COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. 1 • 1 • Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 5, 1955• Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was c aled and Commissioners Wenger, Bar- cafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake and Assistant City Attorney Lillard responded. City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of t he Regular Meeting of March 29th, 1955 were r ea3 and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was cdled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-744. Approvedly Commissioner Laek. Carried. Application presented from Phillips retroleum Companyfbr driveways at — Broadway Boulevard and Crawford Avenue: 2 32x10 2 202 x 36 Application approved by Commissioner Hawkes. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance declaring the abandoning, storing or discarding of certain articles unlawful and making it unlawful for the owner, lessee or manager of any public or private place to permit such abandoned, stored or discarded articles to remain in such place." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Wilson & Company, Engineers, submitted Estimate No. 14 in the amount of $14,966.82 to lulelco, Inc., for construction of Water Softening Plant. Approved by Commissioner Barcafer. Carried. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate N-qmber 1 in the amount of $7695.05 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for �orm Sewer. (Job 326) Approved by Commissioner Barcafer. Carried. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate Number 3 in the amount of $3850.43 to L. W. Rexroad and Son for construction of ClAflin Avenue 6�orm Sewer, (Job No. 317) Approved by Commissioner Barcafer. Carried. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate in the amount of $3607.35 to L. W. Rexroad and Son, for excavation of Sanitary Fill. Approved by Com- missioner Cobb. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportionin and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of construction of Lateral and Main Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 302, 303, 304 305 and Main Lateral Sewer IT" and relating to and providing for the collec- tion and payment of such assessments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the Board of Co siom rs adjourned. City Clerk %�- A Resolution was introduced on first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading on the east side, and the paving with six-inch reinforced concrete twenty (20) feet wide, from toe of gutter to edge of slab, West Place from the north line of University to the south line of State Street.
