FEBRUARY 15, 1955 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 15, 1955• Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Barcafer absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 8, 1955 were read and approved as r ead. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 312 and 313, and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in each of said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 312 and 313 so created, and providing for the pay- ment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the proper -I ty ins aid districts for the payment of the cost of such conEtruction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." i On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Barcafer absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5935. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance conn demning certain land within Saline County, Kansas for the use of the City of Salina as a public park, fixing a benefit district therefor and providing for the payment of the costs thereof." On motion of Co mmissioner Lake he ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Barcafer absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5936. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Gypsum Avenue from the east line of Wisconsin Avenue o he east line of Missouri Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (4) Nays: l0) Commissioner Barcafer absent, mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1527. City Manager reported on the following peititions: 1554 Curb and Gutter North side of Minneapolis Avenue from Lewis to Ohio and Beloit Avenue from Lewis to Ohio. 1553 Sewer in SLock 63 Replat of Blocks 6 and 80 Claflin Addition. r), 644 ' A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of Minneapolis Avenue.— from venue_from the center line of Lewis Avenue to the center line of Ohio Street. Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Beloit Avenue from the center line of Lewis Avenue to he center line of Ohio Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissiore rs. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 311.E and pro- viding for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer insaid Lateral Sanitary Sewer Distridt Number 314 so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of ommissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance regu- lating burning of trash and the maintenance of certain types of fires within the City of Salina and providing a penalty for violation thereof and amending Section 10-115, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, :1a.nsas, 1948 and repealing the original section 10-115." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commis- sioners. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate Number 2 (Final) in the amount of $$1066.76 to Salina Manufacturing Company, for revisions to Hydrotreater Equipment (Water Softening Plant.) Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. Petition presented protesting the construction of curbing and guttering the North side of Crawford Avenue from Steahlin Street west t oche west line of Block 5, Eisenhower Addition; and for the paving of Crawford Avenue from Cherokee Drive to west line of Block 5, Eisenhower Addition, Salina, Kansas Petition referred to City Manager. - Petition presented for the rezoning of Lots 23, 25 and North 40 feet of Lots 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32, nock 6, Bond's Addition from "A" to "B". Petition referred to the City Planning Commission. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed plans and specifications for Water Intake at River. Accept by Commissioner Lake and advertise for bids for March 1, 1955• Carried. On motion of Commissioner Lake the Board of Commissiore rs adjourned. City Clerk -i _
