Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 8, 1955• Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger,
Hawkes and Lake responded. Commissioners Barcafer and Lake and City Attorney Clark
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 12 1955 were read and approved
as read.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading with 2" hot mix asphalt over a
6" crushed rock base, 28 feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, Kirwin Avenue
j from the East line of Lewis Avenue to the West line of Ohio Street."

On motion of Commissioner Lake the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger,
Hawkes and Lake (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Barcafer and Cobb absent. Mayor

approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1525.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of Crawford Avenue
from the West line of Steahli n Street to the West line of Block 5., Eisenhower Addii-
ti on, " and
A Resolution relating to the paving and grading with 6" reinforced concrete
36 feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter; Crawford Avenue from the west line
of Cherokee Drive to the west line of Block 51 Eisenhower Add.tion."

On motion of Commissioner Lake the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was cal led and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger,
Fawkes and Lake (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Barcafer and Cobb absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1526.

Resolution Book 5.
i Commissioner Lake made motion to put the Sewage Disposal Line, approximate-
ly $300,000.00 on April 5th, 1955, election. Carried.
City Manager reported on the following petitions:
No. 1540 For sanitary sewer to serve Blocks 7 and 8, Riker Addition.
Ao. 1549 For sanitary sewer to serve Lots 14 to 19 inclusive, Block 10,
Oakdale Addition.
•An ordinance was introduced for first reacting entitled: "An ordinance cre-
ating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina,
Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 312 and 313, and pro-
viding for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in each of said Lateral Sani-
tary Sewer Districts Number 312 and 313, so created, and providing for the payment of
the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in
said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing
of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance referred to the Board of Commis-
sioners.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and gra ing of Gypsum Avenue from the east line of Wisconsin
Avenue to the east line of Missouri Avenue." Resolution referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution re-
lating to the resurfacing of Iron Avenue with two-inch hot mixed asphaltic concrete
from the west line of Delaware Avenue to the East line of Fifth Street." Resolution
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance con-
demning certain land within Saline County, Kansas for the use of the City of Salina.a
as a public park, fixing a benefit district therefor, and providing for the payment
of the costs thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of - ommis-

sioners.
Application for ereal Malt Beverage License presented from Gus Thodis, d/b/a
j "A and G Cafe" 151 North Santa Fe Avenue.
Commissioner Lake moved that application b e approved and license granted.
Carried.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
Curb and gutter North side of Minneapolis Avenue from Lewis Avenue to Ohio
Avenue and Beloit Avenue from Lewis Avenue to Ohio Avenue.
Sewer in Block 6., of Replat of Blocks 6 and 81 Claflin Addition to the City
of Salina., Kansas.
Water service in Block 6., of Replat of Blocks 6 and 8, Claflin Addition to
the City of Salina, Kansas
The following letters were presented from the City Planning Commission:
Recommending that Petition No. 1550fro the rezoning of the East 165 feet of
Tract 11 Plat 51., in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 14, Township 14P Range 3 South.,
Saline County., Kansas from Zone "All to Zone 'IF" be denied.
Accept by Commissioner Lake. Carried.
Recommending that Petition No. 1536 for the rezoning of Lots 14, 15., 16 and
that part of Lot 19., lying North of the South line of said lots 14., 15., 16, ektended
East, except the East 35 feet thereof, all in Surveyor's Plat 8,, Saline County, Kansas,
be rezoned from Zone "All to Zone I'D" be approved.
Approved by Commissioner Lake and City (lerk publish notice. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Lake the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
