Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regula Meeting of December 20, 1954 were r ead and ap- proved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay for the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays. (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5927. • An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5928. Petition for the rezoning of the North 1/2 of Block 21 Wymore Addition in the City of Salina, Kansan, to District "C" was taken up by the Board of Commis- sioners. Written Protests filed. Hearing extended until January 10th, 1955• Five Cereal Malt Beverage Applications were presented. Commissioner Lake moved that applications be approved and license granted. Carried. City Manager reported on petition for the construction of a sanitary sewer to s erve the west property along Broadway Boulevard from the south line of Walnut Street, south to existing sewer. Plat filed for Replat of Blocks six (6) and eight (8) Claflin Addition. Referred to City Planning Commission. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance • creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, Kansas;, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 311 and provid- ing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Distridt Number 311, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Lake the Board of Commissiore'rs adjourned. City G1e r 1 •
