Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 13, 1954 were read and ap- proved as read. i Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for curbing, guttering and paving improvements provided for in Job 326, as follows: H. J. Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas $1053439.80 Brown and Brown, Inc., Salina, Kansas $107004.80 i L. W. Rexroad and Son, Salina, Kansas 4108,783.80 City Engineer's Estim.te $1143126.00 • Commissioner Cobb moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Comp any as per bid submitted in the amount of $105,439.80 and checks returned to un- successful bidders. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on cer- tain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of Bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. laylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Mayor appointed J. Barl Wyatt, C. B. Dodge, Jr. and Harley Rose to act as t appraisers for curbing, guttering and paving certain streets provided for in Job Number 326. Approved by Commissioner Barcafer. Carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Lewis Avenue from the center line of Jewell Avenue to the center line of Kirwin Avenue, alina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Lake the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fo�lowing vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1512. Recorded on Page 304 Resolution Book Number 5. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the grading and paving with two-inch hot mixed asphaltic concreteover a six-inch rock stabilized base, Kirwin Avenue from the east side of Roach street to west side of Lewis Avenue, Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: �O) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1513. Recorded on Page 305 Resolution Book Number 5. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendmeri of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map thereto and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol owing vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 5924. An ordinance was introduced, for second reacting entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a part of an east and west alley, within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the follaving vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Lake and Hawkes (5) Nays: (OJ Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5925. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salim , Kansas, hereto- fore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer vistricts 306, 307, 308, 309 and 310, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds." An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certai-nelaims.11 On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Hawkes and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-732. Concrete Construction Bond presentedfrom Martin Wasinger. Approved by Commissioner Cobb. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading relating to School Zone Gross Walk Signs. Referred to Lhe Board of Commissiom rs. Applications for driveways were presented. The applications were not made on on the proper form so no action was taken. On motion of Commissioner Lake the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
