11-15-1954 Minutes• COMMLS& ONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING _7 9 1 COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 15, 1951 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 15, 1954. Meeting wascalled to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 8th, 1954 and Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting of November 8, 1951 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of the bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $275,000.00 to pay the cost of acquiring land for public parks and devet- oping the same for such purposes, to be designated as Series PK -164.11 On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: �O) Mayor approved the • ordinance and it is Numbered 5916. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $32,267.88, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City, to be designated as Series Number P-162." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5917. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, all in the sum of $239014.90, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said city to be designated as Series P-163." On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: �O) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5918. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved • ! the ordinance and it is Numbered A-727. City Manager reported on the following petitions: 1521 Curb and gutter Kirwin Avenue from Lewis to Ohio. 1525 For sanitary sewer to serve Lots 4 to 12 inclusive, Block 4, Stack Addition. 1524 For sanitary sewer to serve all of Block 32 Hoffman Replat of Part of Blocle 1 and 2, and all of Blocks 7 and 8, Hageman Park. I 1522 For curbing and guttering West Place, on the East side, from University'' Place to State Sireet. Referred to petitioner for more signers. 1526 For paving 300 Block on North Columbia Avenue. Referred to petition- er for more signers. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the center line of Lewis Avenue to the center line of Ohio Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creat- ing and defining certain late al sanitary sewer districts in the City of ''alma, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 307, 308, 309, and 310, and providing for the construction of lateral sanitary sewer in each of s aid Lateral Sani- tary Sewer Districts Numbered 307, 308, 309 and 310, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the proper- ty in said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issu- ing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. i Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 was presented from H. E. Nyberg, Executor of the estate of C. A. Nord, for perpetual care of the North 1/2 of Lot 21, Block 15, in the Gypsum Hill `'emetery, owned by C. A. Nord. Approved by Commis— sioner Cunningham. Carried. Petition was presented for the curbing, guttering and paving of Cherokee Street from Pueblo Avenue, south to Republic Avenue. Referred to City Manager. City Attorney reported on land acquisition for parks. Commissioner Lake moved to accept report and authorize City Attorney to ;;roceed. Carried.
