Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Cobb, Barcafer, Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. 4 E The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 9th, 1954 were read and approved as read. I � � f An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance j creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, i Kansas:, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 303, 304 and 305, and iproviding for he construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in each of said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 303, 304 and 305, so created, and providing for the paymert of the cost thereof and for he levying of special assessments against the property in saie districts for the payment of the cost of such constructioh and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." r On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections j and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: i Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the { ordinance and it is Numbered 5887. E An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an 4 appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: I Wengerp Barcaferp Cobbp Cunningham and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayer approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-715. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an a appropriation for the payment of certain claims". i On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections 1 and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:: Wenger, Cobb, Cunningham, Barcafer and Lake (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the i i ordinance and it is Numbered A-716. No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning to District "D" Local j Business District, a tract of land in the N. W. 1/4 of Section 14, Township 14 South, Range Three West of the Sixth Principal Meridian. (Petition submitted by H. M. Farrar) . I j An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the amendmen of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and hereby adopted, and providing for the rezoning of certain property with- in the city and prescribing the proper uses thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Manager reported on the following petitions: No. 1483 Curbing and guttering South side of Haven Avenue from Steahlin to j Whittinghill. I � No. 1484 Curbing and guttering Haven Avenue from Whittinghi.11 to Viemont. (South side iTT No. 1485 Paving Illinois Street from Merrill to Sheridan. No. 1486 Curbing and guttering Whittinghill from Crawford to Haven. ` No. 1487 Curbing and guttering Viemont from Crawford to Haven. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A ResDlution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Illinois Street from the east line of ]vierrill Street tothe west line of Sheridan Street." Referred tot he Board of Commis- siona rs. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Whittinghill Avenue from the center line of Crawford Avenue tothe center line of Haven Avenue." Referred tp the Board of Commissioners. • A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing and guttering and grading of Viemont Avenue from the center ;ine of Crawford Avenue tothe center line of Haven Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing and guttering and grading of the south side of Havenue Avenue from the center line of Whittinghi.11 Avenue to the center line of Viemont Avenue." Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. I A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing and guttering and grading of the south side of Haven Avenue from the center line of Steahlin Avenue to the center line of Whittinghill Avenue." j Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. I Letter presented from State Corporation Commission regarding application of Western Union Telegraph Company for change in hours. Commissioner Barcafer moved that City Clerk be authorized to write Commission that the City has no objection to change in hours. Carried. City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for Main Sanitary Sewer "P. Approvedby Commissioner Barcafer. Carried. Petition presented for closing East and West Alley between Kirwin and Claflin and Pershing and Ninth. heferred to City Planning Commission. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $75.00 presented rom Roy F. Floyd for the perpetual care of the North 1/2 of Lot 38, Block 1, Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Approved i by Commissioner Cunningham. Carried. The following petitions were filed and referred to the City Manager: I Curb and Gutter Twelfth Street from Woodland to Pacific (800 Block). Curb and Gutter 1000 and 1100 Blocks on West Republic. Paving Wood Avenue from Cranford to Bond. Letter presentedfrom City Planning Commission recommending that Replat of Block 3, Banker's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas be approved. Commissioner Lake movedto approve and authorize Mayor to sign Plat. Carried. Commissioner Barcafer moved that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids to be received September 13, 1954 for Calcirdng Plant Equipment for Water Softener , providing the anourt of bid is within limit of funds available. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer and drainage in the City of Salina, Kansas, to be designated as Claflin Avenue Storm Sewer, and providing for the letting of contract for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina., Kansas;, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 306 , and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer insaid Lateral Sanitary Sewer "istrict Number 306, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and forthe levying of special assessments against the property insai.d district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SAMNA, KANSAS AUGUST 16, 1951 Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioner$ August 16, 1954. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on the following Appraisers Reports: For paving certain streets provided for in Ordinance Number 5859. (EngineerJob Number 316) For curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinance Numbers 58.8 and 5849 (Engineer Job Number 320) No persons appeared to protest. Commissioner Barcafer moved that Appraisers Reports be approved as filed. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
