Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners [,March 29, 1954. ifleeting was
called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer,
Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 22, 1954 and Meeting of
Board of Zoning Appeals of Larch 22, 1954 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introdu::ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
Prov. ding for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District
Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property
within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was r ead and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and "enger (5) Nays•. (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5842. •
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the vacation of a certain public alley, subject to reservations
within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Ilienger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 5843.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
regulating parking on a part of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas,
providing a penalty for the violat__on thereof and amending Section 24-1412A,
Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1948, and repealing the original
Section 24-1412A of Ordinance 1,wm'oer 5815, aforesaid."
On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 5844.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
repealing and anending certain portions of Ordinance Number 5824 with regard to the
vacation of certain portions of streets in the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas . "
On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption ti,e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the •
ordinance and it is Numbered 5845.
House Mover's Bond presented from Cleo Herman. Approved by Commissioner
Lake. Carried.
Application for Oereal Malt Beverage License presented from 1axine E. Wolfe,
d/b/a "The Buffet" 217 North Santa Fe Avenue." Commissioner Cunningham
moved that application be approved and license granted. Carried.
City Manager reported on Petition Dumber 1414 for the paving of Wilson
Street from Front Street to Fifth Street.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving of Wilson Street with 6" reinforced goncrete, 33 feet
back of curb to back of curb, from the east side of Fifth Street to the west
side of Front Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Petition for Zoning Ordinance violation at 622 South Ninth Street.
Agenda of April 12th3 1954 meeting.
Ordinance introduced for first reading amending speed to 25 miles per hour,
main lime through Kenwood Park, connecting Front Street and Pakdale Avenue."
Referred to the board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Lake moved that Mayor appoint a Committee to meet with
First baptist Church Committee regarding purchase of their property by City of
Salina for parking lot. Mayor appointed City Manager L. M. Srack, City •
Attorney, C. L. Clark and Commissioners Ward E. Barcafer and Ed P. Wenger. Carried.

City Attorney, C. L. Clark, was instructed to arrange meeting regarding
additional Off -Street Parking lots., and report.
Commissioner Lake moved that Chief of Police, H. R. Salman, check t. e sale
of certain magazines and report to the Board of Commissioners at Meeting of April
26th, 1954- Carried.
Chief of Police, Ii. R. Salmans, gave a report on his trip to Traffic School.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
