An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ! creating and defining aeertain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, E ! Kansas, designatedas Lateral Sanitary Sewer District number 300 and providing for j the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District I Number 300, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the payment i of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." i On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays., (0) Payor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5833• I , An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repealing t Section 6 of Ordinance Number 5712." j On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll waa called and the following vote was Ihad; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) 1Jays ; (0) Layor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5834. E A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the grading and paving to a width of twenty-eight (28) feet with two-inch hot mixed asphaltic concrete, over a six-inch rock stabilized base, of Twelfth Street from the north line of Charles Street t oche north line of Crawford Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Lake the resolution was adopted as read and on its { final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) idays: (0) h�layor approved the resolution i and it is Numbered 1444. Carried. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that the paved portion of Republic Avenue be widened from Osborne Street to Fourth Street; also relating to parking vehicles on Republic Avenue between Osborne and Fburth. fut on agenda f or meeting of lwarch 15, 1951. The matter of opening Franklin Street from Shawnee Avenue east to Hancock, was referred to City Manager to report at the Meeting of April 12, 1954. City kanager reported on the following petitions: Number 11430 For paving Sunrise Drive from Milson to McAdams. Number 12431 For paving Frost Street from Eleventh to Sherman. Number 12132 For sanitary sewer to serve Block 63 Stack's Addition. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Sunrise Drive from the North line of Wilson Street to the South line of McAdams Road." Referred tot he Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Frost Street from t he east line of Sherman Street to the east line of Eleventh Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 301, and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 301 as created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Lake moved to authorize expenditure of $305.00 from Industrial Fund for City Manager's trip to lhashington, D. C. as, City's reFr esentative , to attend the meeting ofthe American Industrial Development Council on March 28, 29 and 30, 1954. Carried. The following Bonds were presented and on motion of Commissioner Lake approved bythe Board of Commissioners: Electrician's Bond from American Electric Company. j i sas Fitter's Bond from T. C. Laughlin. The following petitions were presented: For curbing and guttering Hemlock Drive from Lot 7, Block 9, to intersection of Redwood Drive. Referred to the City Manager. i Petition relating to violation of Zoning Ordinance at 622 South Ninth Street, Salina, Kansas. Referred to City Attorney. For the rezoning of Lots 81 10 and 12, Block 24, E. M. I. Addition from Zone "B" to Zone "E". Referred to City Planning Commission. For the vacation of.he South five feet of Ellsworth Avenue from Lewis to Ohio. Referred to City Planning Commission. For the rezoning of the hest 50 feet of Lots 50, 52 and 524, on Ninth Street, in K. W. U. Addition to "D" Local Business. Referred tothe City Planning Commission. Claim, in the amount of 0500.00 for Engineering Services (Water Softening Plant) forthe month of February 1954, was presented from Wilson & Company, Engineers. Approved by Cb mmissioner Lake. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of construct- ing certain water service pipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas. "An ordinance relat- ing to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of -1alina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, paving and rading of i!arietta Avenue from the west line of Clark S reet to the east line of Chicago Street; for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving to a width of forty (40) feet, Crawford Avenue from the east line of Missouri racific Railroad right-of-way to the center line of Broadway Boulevard, known as U.S.Highway No. 81, By -Pass; forthe paving andgra ing of Connecticut Avenue from the south line of Gypsum -k enue to t he south line of Stack Avenue; for t he paving and grading of benison load from the south line of Wilson Street to the south line of I cAdams Road; and for the paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
