FEBRUARY 1, 1954 Regular 1eeting of the Board of Commissioners February 1, 1954• Meeting was called to order by Layor iarcafer, he roll was called and Commis- sioners iarcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Leeting of January 25, 1954 were ead and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motiom of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham,, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-688. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance i prescribing certain minimum standard as to sizes of water service mains and water distribution service into and within residences and apartment houses in the City of Salina and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5830. An ordinance was introduced. for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the time, manner and place of parking vehicles ori certain streets in the City of Salina, providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and repealing Sec- tion 13-1322 Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948, and Ordinance No. 5620 of said City." On motion of Commissioner Yienger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Jkayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5831. Taxicab applications presented as follows: 5 Bell Taxi 15 Radio Cab 8 Red Top On motion of Commissioner Cunningham applications were approved and license granted. Carried. Ife following petitions were presented: For installation of three street lights on East sideof ninth Street from Cloud to Charlotte. Location being in front of Kraft Iianor Shopping Center. Commissioner Wenger moved that City manager be authorized to have lights installed. Carried. For opening Franklin Avenue from Shawnee to Hancock. Petition re- ferred to City Manager. For rezoning Lot 3, Block 2, Santa Fe Park Addition from "B" Second Dwelling to "C" Apartment. Referred to City Planning Commission. For Sanitary Sewer to serve property on Voest side of U. S. By -Pass 81, north of Crawford, a distance of approximately 1436 feet. Referred to City Langer. Plumber and Gas:Fitter Bond presented from Ed Bachofer, d/b/a Bacl,ofer Plumbing and Heating. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. Commissioner VVenger moved that Plumbing Board be authorized to have Vincent F. Manas, make revision of Plumbing Ordinance, or amount of °300.00, any additional cost to be given consideration later. Carried. Proposal presented from Bell Bench Advertising Company, relating to placing, operating and maintaining benches in the City of Salina at local bus stops or similar locations, as designated by the Board of Commissioners. Commission- ers do not want to change existing ordinance prohibiting advertising on parking. On motion of Commissioner Wenger trd ofZ ssioners adjourned. City CLerk
