01-25-1954 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING I i COMMISSIONERS ROOOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JANUARY 25, 1954 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 25, 1954. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Bar- cafer, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Cobb absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 18, 1954 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating and limiting the time, manner and place of parking vehicles on certain streets in the City of Salina, providing a penalty for he violation thereof, and repealing Section 13-1322 Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948, and Ordi- nance Plumber 5620 of said City." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance prescribing certain minimum standard as to sizes of water service mains and water distribution service into and within residences and apartment houses in the City of Salina and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof." Ordinance was referred tothe Board of Commissioners. 1 C, An ordinance was introduced for first reading amending ordinance relat- ing to stop signs on Fourth Street at Mulberry, Center and Prescott. Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Manager reported favorably on petition No. 1424 for a street light in the middle of the 800 Block on South Fifth Street. Approved. Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from: West Walnut Street Grocery 700 West Walnut Salina Country Club East Iron -4venue 6mmissioner Cunningham moved that applications be approved and license granted. Carried. Gas Fitters Bond from Good Housekeepers Appliances, Inc. Approved: -y Commissioner Lake. Carried. j Combination Plumber and Gas Fitters Bond from Neal W. Hill. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. Mayor appointed Mrs. J. J. Donelan and Rudolph Barta, members of the Salina Public Library Board for a term of four years from February 1, 1954. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. Mayor appointed Howard B. Eagle, member of the Salina Municipal Band, Board of Trustees, for a term of three years from January 1, 1954. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1443.
