Meeting I was c alled to order by Layor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer, i Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners Cobb and Wenger absent. 9 The minutes of the Regular n'eeting of December 21, 1953 were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing and guttering of Lincoln Avenue from the center line of Chester I Avenue tothe center line of Arthur Avenue." On m otion of Commissioner Lake the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cunningham and Lake (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Cobb and Wenger absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1441• The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 222 Resolution Book Number 5. An ordinance was introdujed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Nap therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City of bal ina, and prescribing the proper uses thereof." _ I On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cunningham and Lake (3) Nays: (07 Commissioners Cobb and Wenger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-683. , City Manager reported on Petition Number 1423, for paving Wilson Street from Fron to Benison. r j A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the grading and paving, to a width of twenty-eight (28)fbet with two-inch hot mixed asphaltic concrete, over a six-inch rock stabilized base, Wilson Street from the East line of Front Street to the West line of Kerrison Road." Resolution M was referred to the Board of Commissioners. r j Option Agreement entered into between W. M. Garrison and the City of Salina, Kansan, relating to purchase of Lots 2, 4 and 5 to 28, both inclusive, in Block 5, Wood's Replat of Blocks 4 a nd 5, in Bond's Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas." Commissioner Cunningham moved to approve and authorized Mayor to sign. Carried. Purchase of real estate from J. G. Shamburg, et al, East 100 feet Lot 1, Neeley's Addition for 41500.00. Approved by Commissioner Cunningham. Carried. Letter presented from City Planning Commission, denying petition presented from tiarmon S. tvelson for the rezoning of Lot 20, Kirwin Avenue, Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan • University from Zone "B" to Zone "D". Commissioner Lake moved to accept. Carried,'. Letter presenteditom City Engineer, H. F. Harper and City Manager, L. hi. Srack, j recommending that the width of Hest Cloud Street from Plinth Street to Highway 81 be _ increased from Fifty Feet to sixty feet. Referred to City Planning Commission. Fifty-three Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1951, were presented to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Lake moved that applications be approved and license granted. Carried. i Application Plumber 52 for Cereal Malt Beverage. Li cense for t he year 1954, presented from 81-40 Cafe. Commissioner Lake moved toapprove, subject to Final Inspection of Sanitation Department. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance regu- lating and limiting the time of parking of vehicles on a part of certains treets in the City of Salina, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof." Ordinance was r eferred tothe Board of Commissioners. i An ordinance was introduced for first readirfg entitled: "An ordinance regu- lating parking on a part of certain streets in the City of Salina, providing a penalty for the violation thereof and amending Section 24-1415, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1948, and Supplemental Ordinances 24-1415A and 24-1415B, and repealing the original Section 24-1415, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, _ Kansas, 1948, and %pplemental Ordinances 24-141aA and 24-1415B aforesaid.". Ordinance was referred tothe Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining an additional parking meter zone and regulating the same."
