Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 23, 1953• Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer,
Cobb, Lake and 'Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Cunningham
absent.
The minutes of t he Regular vieeting of Novemaer 16, 1953 were read and approved
as read.
An ordinance was introdu::ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
amending Section 3, Sections 23-301 through 23-3072 1948 Revised ordinances of the
City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, providing for and regulating street curb cuts
and the construction and use of driveway approaches and recessed parking areas;
providing for the issuance and revocation of permits and penalties for violations
thereof; and repealing Article 3, Sections 23-301 through 23-307, 1948 Revised
ordinances of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Lake he ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Lake and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cunningham
absent. 14ayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5823-
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution
relating to the grading and paving; to a width of twenty-eight (28) feet with two-inch
hot mixed concrete over a six-inch rock stabilized base, Front Street from the north
line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Ash Street."
On mot.i.on of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer,
Cobb, Lake and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cunningham absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is numbered 1437.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 214 Resolution Book
Number 5.
Letter presented from Paul Crough, requesting transfer of Taxicab License
Number 44 to Bertha and Roy Cheeves. Approved by Co mmissioner Lake.
Carried.
Concrete Construction Maintenance Bond presented from Edward Blaske.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Board of Commissioner approved Salvation Army Week Proclamation, from
November 29th to December 6th, 1953, and instructed Mayor to sign Proclamation.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
