Meeting was called to order by L ayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Bar- cafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger 4nd City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 9, 1953 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment and repeal of Sections 27-101 to 27-124, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948, and Ordinance idumbers 5465 and 5709." i On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunninghay Lake and vienger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance avid it is Numbered 5819. An ordinance was introdu.,ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for and auti orizing the issuance of improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $247,472.91, to pay the cost of constructing mains anitary sewers and certain lateral sanitary sewers and storm sewers and pumping stations in the City of Salina, Kansas, which bonds shall be designated as Series S-159.1' On motion of Commissioner Uenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was cal led and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it.is Numbered 5820. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizi.ig and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the surn of *82,299.61 to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said city, to be designated as Series Number P-160.11 On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its ficial a doption the roll was caled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Fenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 5821. An ordinance was ;ntrodu-;ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of (143,940.89 to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City to be designated as Series Number e-161.11 • 1 • On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and 6enger (5) Nays: (0) mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5822. An ordinance was introdu.;ed and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims.1t On motion of Commissioner 'tenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follorrin vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) kayorapproved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-676. Letter presented from the City Planning and Zoning Commission, recommending that petition presented from R. B. Ricklefs, vr., for the vacating of Lichigan Avenue from Iron Avenue t o Stapler Avenue be denied. Commissioner Wenger moved that report be accepted. Carried. Letter presented .from the City Planning and i-oning Commission recommending that pet --tion presented from Fred Lindenmyer, et al., for the rezoning of Lot 5, Block 14, L'acific Addition from Commercial Zone "E11 to Zone "F11 be granted, except to include Lots 1 to 8, Block 14, Nacific Addition. Commissioner Cobb moved to accept and City Clerk be instructed to give thirty days notice. Carried. 10 0 1 L, 0 C • 1 0 City hianager reported on Petition Plumber 1421 for the paving of Front Street from Iron Avenue to Ash Street. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution re- lating tot he grading and paving to a width of twenty-eight (28) feet, with two-inch 'rot mixed concrete over a six-inch rock stabilized base, Front Street from the north lire of iron Avenue to the south line of Ash ;Itreet." Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. Appraisers reports filed for the following improvements: Job 305 Paving Crawford Union Pacific Right -of -Way to Roach. Job 310 Curb, gutter and/or paving Job 315 Curb, gutter and/or paving Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 297. Commissioner Wenner moved that City Clerk adve_-tise for hearing on s aid i reports to be held December 7th, 19A at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 3 of Sections 23-301 tixough 23-307, 1946 Revised Urdinances of the City of "alina, Saline County, r�ansas, providirng for and regulating street curb cutsand the construction and use of driveway approaches and recessed parking areas; providing for the issuance and revocation of Permits and penalties for violations thereof; and repealing Article 3, Sections 23-301 through 23-307, 1948 Reuised Ordi- nances of the City of Oalina, Saline County, Kansas."
