Regular Meeting of the Board of Commission, rs October 26, 1953• Meeting
was c alled to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners
Barcafer, Cobb, Cunni.nghan, Lake and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 19th, 1953 and Meeting of
Board of Zoning Appeals of October 19th, 1953 were read end approved as read.
Beer Application of Constance J. Jobe, 226 South Santa Fe Avenue was held
over one week.
Jerl Thyfault asked permission to transfer his Beer License Number 1443,
from Rainbow Tavern, 105 South Fifth Street to "The Den" 226 South Santa Fe Avenue.
Held over for one week for police and sanitation check.
Cecil Roy Dooley asked permissioh to transfer his Beer License Number 1247,
from Rainbow Tavern, 105 South Fifth Street to "Billie's Place" 147 North Seventh
Street. Held over for one week for police and sanitation check.
City Planning and 'Zoning Commission letter on Petition Number 1412, from
Alfred 1. Harper and others for rezoning of Lots 12, 14, 20, 16 and 18 in nock 44,
Military Addition from Zone 'B" to Zone "D" be denied. Commissioner Cobb
moved to accept. Carried.
City Manager reported on Petition Number 1416 for opening streets, will have
to check up regarding wheat that is now planted there.
City �,ianger reported on the following petitions:
Number 1115
Curb and gutter south side of Ellsworth -"venue from east
line of Lewis Street to west line of Ohio Street.
Number 1415 Curb and gutter Lewis Street from north line of Jewell -"venue,
north approxirn tely 128 feet.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Lewis ►Street from the north line of
Jewell -"venue, north approximately 128 feet, more or less." Referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "'A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of South side of Ellsworth Avenue
from the east line of Lewis Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street." Referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
Letter read from Treasury Department, expressing appreciation for fine
assistance during visit of President Eisenhower to Salina.
Transfer of Red Top Cab License 42 to K. E. Trimmer.
Commissioner Lake moved to approve. Carried.
Pet.Ltion Number 1120 from J. Larl Wyatt and others, for vacation of a part
of Hamilton Avenue f ro Twelfth Street to east line of E. M. I. Addition making it a
60 -ft. street. Referred:,o City Planning Commission.
Mayor appointed Mrs. Al Noyce to the Galina Public Health Nursing Associa-
tion to replace krs. Chas. Schwartz whose term has expired. Approved by Com-
missioner Cobb. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
