AUGUST 3, 1953 Regular Meeting ofthe Board of Commissioners August 3, 1953• Meeting was called to order by Layor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and yienger and Acting City Attorney Lillard responded. Nicol • Ernest Stauffer Fred Nelson { I and others. ; An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance author- izing and directing the issuance of X1,0002000.00 Principal Amount of Waterworks rev- enue Bonds, Series B, of the Cityof Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of extending, en- larging and improving the Waterworks Plant and System owned by said Uity, prescribing the form and details of said Revenue Bonds, providing for thg collection, segregation and application of the Revenues of said waterworks utility for the purposes authorized I by law, including paying the cost of operation, mainte.ance and improvement of said I utility, providing an adequate depreciation fund and paying the principal of and the interest on the Waterworks Revenue Bonds of said Uity issued against said utilit ." On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and tienger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 291, and relating to and providing for .he collection and payment of such assessments." i On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- I tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." e • On motion of (bmmissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final -adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is yumbered A-661. i An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an ap— priation for the payment of certain claims." -- On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finals doption the roll wascalled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-662. I City Manager reported on Petition Number 1404'►for the paving of Eighth Street from Grand Avenue to Woodland Avenue." A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Eighth Street from the north line of Grand Avenue to the south line of Woodland Avenue." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Petition presented for the paving of Wilson Street from Roach to Sunrise. Referred to City Manager. Application for Cereal Malt beverage License was presented rom Keith Graybeal, d/b/a "Rainbow Tavern" 105 South Fifth Street. Commissioner Cunningham moved that application be approved and license granted. Motionadopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain lots and parts of lots and the parkways abutting thereof in the City of Salina, hansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. I k�embers of taxicab companies in the 6.ty of Oalinaappeared before the Board of Commissioners asking for space to park taxicabs. Action on same deferred until meeting of August 31, 1953. On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
