06-15-1953 Minutes1 0 1 • 1 0 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING -COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALI NA, KANSAS. i JUNE 15, 1953 1 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 15, 1953• Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Barcafer absent. The minutes of t he Regular Meeting of June 8, 1953 were r ead and approved as read. The matter of increasing taxicab fares to Air Base was discussed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion made to defer action for one week. Carried. Appraisers reports were filed for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 292 to 296 inclusive, and Main Sewer 11AB4. Commissioner Cobb'•moved that City Clerk publish notice for hearing to be held July 6, 1953• Carried. City Manager reported on the following petitions: Number 1398 For curbing, guttering and paving Roach 'street from Minneapolis to Beloit. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering arra paving of Roach Street from the south line of Minneapolis Avenue to the North line of Beloit Street." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Number 1100 For paving Wilson Street from Kenison to Sunrise. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Wilson Street from the west line of Kenison Road to the east line of Sunrise Lrive.'t Referred tot he Board of Commissioners. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from Roy Streckfus and Mrs. LeRoy Sgunders , d/b/a Budweiser Taproom" 11.3 North Seventh Street. Commissioner Lake moved that application be approved and license issued. Carried. Application was presented for the transfer of Cab Number 40 from Red Top Cab L%ompany to Gene Sexton. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain water service pipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City of Salina., Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Petition presented from Merle J. and Ann Forsyth asking for the removal of structure located at 203 East Pacific. Referred to the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Lake the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk >.-k%r,,,nn An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain sidewalks in the parking abutting Lots 2 to 19 inclusive, Block 3; Lots 1 to 18 inclusive and Lots 10 to 12 inclusive, Block 4; Lots 16 to 18, inclusive; and Lots 20 to 22, inclusive, Block 5, Lots 10 to 14 inclusive, Block 1, all in Sunrise Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, and in the parking of Lot 1 and Lot 15, Block 5, abutting Sunrise Lrive and in the parking of Lots 9 and 15, Block 11 abutting Beloit -k-venue, all in said Sunrise Addition." JUNE 15, 1953 Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals June 15, 1953• Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Wenger, the roll was called and Commissioners Wenger, Cobb, Cunningham and Lake and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Barcafer absent. Building Application Number 2675 from L. W. Cross was again taken up by the Board of Zoning,Appeals. Commissioner Lake moved to sustain previous action and reject.
