Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissionrs December 8th, 1959. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissionrs McCune,
Exline„ Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Bull
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meetiagof November 24th, 1959 and Meeting of Board
of Zoning Appeals of November 24t , 1959, were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for
Guard Fence (Flood Protection) as follows:
Armco Drainage & Metal Products, Inc. Topeka, Kansas $8,131.00

Commissioner Ramsey moved that contract be awarded to Armco Drainage & Metal
Products, Inc., as per bid submitted in the sum of $8,431.00, and checks returned to
unsuccessful bidders.

The following letters received from City Planning Commission:
Recommending that Petition Number 2290, filed by R. L. Thorpfor permission
to operate Trailer Park on Lot 6 to 21, Block 11; Lots 1 to 15 in Block 2, and Lot 11,
13 and 15 in Block 3, in Holiday Addition be denied.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and petition denied.
Recommending that Petition Number 2303 filed by Verner Smith for the rezoning
of Lot 12, and East 40 feet of Lot 10, on Kirwin Avenue in the Grounds of Kansas Wes-
leyan University Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be approved.
Commissioner Exline moved to accept and publish Notice.
Reported on Petition Number 2308 filed by Kenneth J. Nordboe for the rezoning
of all of Nordboe Sub -Division to Zone "B" and for special permission to use said
Sub -Division for Trailer Court privileges, as follows:
Recommending that Lot 1, and the east 25 feet of Lot 2, in Block 1, be rezoned
from "A" to "B", and that special permission be granted pursuant to Section 13 of the •
Zoning Ordinances to use the remainder of said Nordboe Sub -Division for Trailer Court
purposes.
Commissioner Ramsey moves to accept and publish notice.
An ordinane was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map
therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezonixg of certainproperty within
the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
McCune,, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6395.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordina noe pro-
viding and establishing the rates tots charged consumers of water sold by the Waterworks
Department of the City of Salina and amending Section 1 of Ordinance Number 6329 and
providing for the repeal of said Section l."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and.the following vote was had; Ayes:
McCune, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6396.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with the Brown and Brown Construction Company for the •
construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina , Kansas,
and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the
issuance and sale of bonds."

• of Wayne Avenue tothe south line of Oxford Drive."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2267.

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2268.
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Lewis Street with concrete
Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb from the south line of
Belmont Boulevard to the south line of Lot 19, Block 9, Belmont Addition."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2269.
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Talley
Drive with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from b ack of curb toback of curb, from
the west line of Haskett Avenue tothe west lineof Harold Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as -.read and on
• its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2270.

Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb
from the south line of Talley Drive tothe west line of Haskett Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,

the resolution and it is Numbered 2271.
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, gutterin, paving and grading of Andrew
Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb,
from the east line of Harold Avenue tothe west line of Page Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2272.

the resolution and it is Numbered 2273.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;

Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6397.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratify-
ing and confirming a contract with the M. L. Parish Construction Company for the con-
struction of cer tain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated
as Engineering Job 3911, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the
cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: McCune, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6398.
The following Resolutions were introduced for second readirg :

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on

the resolution and it is Numbered 2267.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, December 8, 1959. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Exline, Jaeger
and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Bull absent.
Hearing was held on Notice of Appeal filed by Philip Humbargar for non-compliance
with Front Yard setback requirements for Lot 3, plus East 4 feet Lot 4, and West 2
feet of Lot 21 Vanderbilt Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, (Known as 1516
Beverly Drive).
No protests.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
the authorization of non-compliance with the Front Yard setback requirements of
Ordinance Number 5549 , for Lot 3, plus the East 4 feet of Lot 4, and the West 2 feet
of Lot 2, of Vanderbilt Addition, to the City of Salirn , Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
