11-17-1959 MinutesPROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 17, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 17, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and. City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 10th 1959 and Meetin of Board of Zoning Appeals of November 10th, 1959 w erezead and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for $1,418,803.28 principal amount of General Improvement Bonds, Series S-181, P-182 and P-183 of the City of Salina, Kansas, as follows: .Net Interest Cost to City City National Bank and Trust Company, Kansas: City, Missouri $390, 678.57 • Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company, Chicago, Illinois $391,260.45 Stern Bros. and Company, Kansas City, Missouri $392,095.66 Halsey, Stuart & Company, Inc., $393,732.19 Barret, Fitch, North and Company, Inc. $397,671.44 Bids tabulated by City Clerk. Commissioner Ramsey moved to award bid to City National Bank and Trust Company; this bid being the lowest interest cost t6 City; and return bid checks of unsuccessful bidders. Carried . An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvements Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, all in the sum of $910,563.15, to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said city, tobe designated as Series Number P-182." Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. • Agreement entered into between the County of Saline and the City of Salina in Saline County, Kansas, establishing the method of providing funds for the Joint City - County Board of Health and superseding a joint agreement of the 28th day of June 1955• Commissioner Exline moved to approve. Hearing was held on Notice of Appeal filed by Myrtle Armbruster for non-compli- ance with the Insufficient Yard Requirements for North 60 feet of Lot 21, plus 10 feet of vacated street on Claflin Avenue, Addition to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan Univer- sity, to the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exlire, Jaeger and Exline.
