10-20-1959 Minutes• COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS OCTOBER 200 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 20, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exlis and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Jaeger absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 13th, 1959 and Meetirg of Board of Zoning Appeals were read and approvea as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the purchase of two police cars as follows: Long -McArthur Difference $2748.00 Jim Sullivan Chevrolet Co.Difference $2806.00 Commissioner Exline moved to accept bid of Long -McArthur. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati- • fying and confirming a contract with the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company for the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoptian the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6382. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: ,"An ordinance pro- viding for the construction of certain sidewalks, for the payment of the cost thereof and how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is hetaby Numbered 6383. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion -of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it hereby Numbered 6384. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following property: Lots 45, 513 53 on Elm Street in Weaver's Addition lying west of the Mis- souri Pacific Railroad in the City of Salim , Saline County, Kansas, from Zone "F" to Zone "G". Lot 10, except the south 65 feet and the rezoning of Lot 9, except the South 65 feet, and the West 100 feet, in Riker Addition, Salina, Kansas to Zone "D". Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 8, Riker Addition, thence north 140 feet, t encs West 417 feet; thence South 140 feet, t ence East 417 feet to point of beginning, f rom Zone "D" to Zone "A". Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve and that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading . Kansas from "C" to "E" be approved. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and City Clerk publish Notice. Referred to City Manager by Commissioner Exline. Petition presented for lateral sanitary sewer in the easement of Blocks 1 and 10, serving all lots in said blocks, Riker -Manor Addition. Referred to City Manager by Commissioner Ramsey. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Ex - line and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Jaeger absent. Hearing was held on Notice of Zoning Appeal filed by J. Earl Wyatt,for non-compliance with the lot frontage for, the South 58 feet of 60 -foot vacated Charles Street, South Park Addition; and.North 51 feet of Lot 5, Block 6, South Park Addition in the City of Salina, Kansas. No protests. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled : "A Resolution relating to the authorization of non-compliance with Lot Frontage Requirements of Ordinance Number 5549 for the South 58 feet of 60 -foot vacated Charles Street, South Park Addition and the North 51 feet of Block 6, South Park Addition , City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
