09-22-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS SEPTEMBER 22, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 22, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull and Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners Exline and Ramsey absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 15, 1959 and Zoning Board Meeting of September 15, 1959 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received for the construction of Indian Rock Park Shelter House and Entrance Gate as follows: Wilson Contractors $10,230.00 Elmer Ogborn $10,759.00 Busboom and Rauh $10,795.00 ABR Contractors, Inc., $11,200.00 Mel Jarvis Construction Company $11,700.00 • Architect's Estimate $10,500.00 -Commissioner Bull moved that contrabtbe awarded to Wilson Constructors, as per bid submitted in the amount of $10,230.00 , and checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. Notice of Hearing for paving; Sanitary Sewer and Water Main in Wilbre Addi- tion, City of Salina, Kansas. PUBLIC HEARING ON ADVISABILITY OF IMPROVEMENTS Project S. B. - 378• The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salia,Kansas, met in the Commissioners Room at the City Hall on the 22nd day of September 1959 at 4:00 P. M. for the pur- pose of conducting a public hearing on the advisability of the following improvements: The paving, grading, curbing and gutte ring with concrete, 33 feet back of curb to back of curb on the following streets in Wilbre Addition in the City of Salina, Kansaw. Prescott Avenue from the east line of Ohio Street to the center line of Lefron Street. Lefron Street from the center line of Prescott Avenue to the north line of Crawford Avenue. Wilbre Road from the east line of Lefron Street to the east line of Jaron Street. Sylvan Place from the north line of Wilbre Road North to • and including the culdesac. Rockview Road from the north line of Wilbre Road to the center line of Jaron Str eet. Jaron Street from the center line of Wilbre Road north to and including the culdesac. Crawford Street 41 feet back to back of curb, from east line of Ohio Street to west end of bridge over Smoky Hill River. Sanitary Sewer to service all lots in Wilbre Addition, includes an 8" clay pipe lateral and a 6 inch service line to each lot. A water main to serve all lots inWilbre Addition, includes a 6 inch water main and a service line to each loto as provided by notice published in the Salina Journal, the official City newspaper on the on September 9th and September 16th, 1959, and -said meetings were finally adjourned on the 22nd day of September, 1959. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6378. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordinance de- scribing the place of installation of certain sidewaks in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCua?, Bull and Jaeger (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Num- bered 6379. A resolution was introduced and read -':.authorizing the Mayor of the City of Salina,Kansas to sign Pipe Line License with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Com- pany. On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull and Jaeger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Ramsey absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2219. An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An ordinance making an appro- priation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll cas called and the following Vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull and Jaeger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Ramsey ab- sent.
