SEPTEMBER 8, 1959
Regular Meet ing of the Board of Commissioners September 8, 1959. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor McCuir@,the roll was called and Commissioners McCune,
Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 1, 1959 and Zoning Board Meet-
ing of September 1, were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to Notice published inthe official City paper bids were received
for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 393 and 394 (Job 379) as follows:
L. W. Rexroad and Son $9,056.00
McCollum Construction Company $12,015.20
0, D. Wilmoth Constr uction Company $11,764.50
Engineer's Estimate $12,103.00
Commissioner Exline moved that contract be awarded to L. W. Rexroad and Son,
as per bid submitted in the sum ok 9,056.00, and checks returned to unsuccessful
bidders.

as appraisers for Job 379.
Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received
for Street Improvements in Claremont Heights Addition (Job 392), as follows:
Brown and Brown, Inc., $129,580.50
Wilmoth Construction Company $132,714.10
L. W. Rexroad and Son $148,286.50
Engineer 's Estimate $134,204-00
Commissioner Ramsey moved that contract be awarded to Brown and Brown, Inc.,
as per bid submitted in the sum of $129,580.50, and checks returned to unsuccessful
bidders.

• A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled_: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Barney Street with Concrete,
Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb toback of curb, from the north line
of Lincoln Street tothe south line of Broadway Boulevard."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the r esolution
and it is Numbered 2213.
An ordinary a was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance for
the vacation of North and South Alley within the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas,"
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6370.
An ordinance was introduced for second eading entitled "An ordinance for
the vacation of Lincoln Avenue within the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 6371.
• Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading,
creating and defining Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 397 in the City of
Salina, Kansas. 1

City Manager reported on Petition Number 2275 for the vacation of Charles
Street west of Montrose Avenye, lying between Lot 5, in Block 6, and Lot 1 in Block
both in South Park Addition, Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Exline moved to approve and ordinance introduced for first reading,
with utility right-of-way reserved.

Lease and Concession Agreement entered into between the City of Salina,Kansas,
and Hertz System, Inc., relating to automobile rental services at the Salina Municipal
Airport.

Highway System."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull,
Exlire, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is
Numbered 2214.
-,Petit2l,oft presented protesting the activities of Vincent Crough, whose business
address is Fifth and Pacific, Salina, Kansas. It is desired that the motor vehicles
under his care be no longer parked on the City Streets and adjoining parking areas, but
rather be confined to the actual parking on his lots. Also, that the dismantling of
motor vehicles at this address be discontinued.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer petition to City Attorney.
