Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 25, 1959. Meeting was

Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Exline absent.
The minutes ofthe' Regular Meeting of August 18th, 1959 and Zoning Board
Meeting of August 18th, 1959 were mead and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second.reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map
therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property
within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was _called and the following vote was had;
• Ayes: McCune, Bull, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exlineabeent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6365.
An ordinance was introduced for second. reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for application, imposing fee and bond for movin of buildings within City Limits,
giving of notice, and repeating Section 23-101, Section 23-102 and Section 23-110 Re-
vised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1948."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: McCune., Bull, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and ij� is Numbered 6367.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating
to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground
in the City of.Salina,.Kansas, to pay.the cost of curbiq g guttering, paving and grading
of Belmont. Boulevard with concrete, two slabs each Twenty (20) feet from toe of slab
to back of curb, from the north line of Wayne Avenue t& the west line of Roach Street;
curbing., guttering, paving and grading of Cloud -Street Thirty-three (33) feet wide
from back of curb to back of curb, with concrete, om the east line of Roach Street
to the east line of Lewis Avenue; paving and grading of Cloud Street with concrete,
Thirty-seven (37) feet wide from back of curb to back of cur . from the east line of
Quincy Street to the west line of Roach Street; curbing and guttering of the South side
of Cloud Street from the east line of Quincy Street to the west line of Roach Street ;

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was. called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
McCung,Bull, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6368.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that Trailer Court Ordinance be tabled for one week.
Application for. driveways at 1700 East Iron Avenue.. 14 ft. x 31.5 feet on Iron
Avenue and Iowa Street.
Application approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Carried.
The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Ramsey
referred to the City Manager:
Curb, gutter and pave with concrete,.Bel-Air Drive from Cloud to Cloud.
Sidewalks for Bel -Air Addition, except adjacent to Lots land 2.
Sanitary Sewer to serve Bel -Air Addition.
Concrete. Construction Bonds received from:
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey.
Solomon Holcom and F.E. Pickering.
Plat of Rolling Hills Addition. Jaeger -Refer to City Plannin Commission.
Plat of Riker -Manor Addition. Jaeger -Refer to City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for
the construction of Later al Sanitary Sewers Numbered 393 and 394, to be received up to
and including, Tuesday, September 8th, 1959, at four o'clock P. M.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids
for certain street, sanitary sewers and.sidewalk improvements in Claremont Addition, to
be received up to and including, Tuesday, September 8th, 1959 at four o'clock P. M.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for t he construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Number 395.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled : "A Resolution authorizing and
providing for the issuance of Temporary Note of he City of Salim, Nazsas, in the amount
of $38,816.20 to pay a portion of the cos t of certain sewer improvements in the Citi* of
Salina to be designated as ST -39 pending t issuance of bonds to pay the cost of said work,
On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final
adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Jaeger
and Ramsey (4) Nays: .(0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2207.
A resolution was introduced and. passed entitled--. "A Resolution authorizing and
providingfor the issuance of Temporary Notes of the City of Salina, iNansas in the sum of
$66,799.15 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina
to be designated as Series PT -38 pending the issuance of bonds to pay tie cost of said
work."
On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final
adoption the roll was called and the.following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Jaeger
and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2208.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeal.si August 25th, 1959- Meeting was called
to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Jaeger
and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Exlis absent.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by A. L. Holcom for addition to one -
family dwellirg located on Lot 1, Republic Avenue, Addition to Grounds of Kansas
Wesleyan University . (300 East Republic Avenue).
No protests.
A -resolution was introduced and passed entitledc: "A Resolution relating to
the authorization of non-compliance with the Side. Yard Requirements of Ordinance
Number 5549 for Lot One (1) on Republic. Avenue.in.Addition to the Grounds of Kansas
Wesleyan University Addition to he City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
• On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Bull, Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2206.
Application for Building Per mit for erection of a one -family dwelling on
Lot 3, Block 3, Belmont Addition, (2114 Norton) was received from Douglas G. Hill,
Inc.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to get three signatures of adjoining land owners.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey, Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
