08-11-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALIVA, KANSAS AUGUST 11, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 11, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Bull absent. The minutes of the Regular Meetin of August 4th, 1959 were read and approved as read. Off -Street Parking report. Off -Street Pay Commissioner Exline moved to instruct Bucher and Willis to submitan/Feasibility Report on Original and Alternate Plans, with two Rest Rooms. Carried. Ordinance introduced fok second reading entitled: "An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other purposes by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1960." • On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Exline Jaeger and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6361. No persons appeared to protest the rezonin of Lots 15, 16 and 17 in Plat "B" Phillip's Second Addition, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas from Zone "B" to Zone "C". Commissioner Jaeger moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced /for first reading. Ordinance passed:, Number: Petition presented for authority to connect to City Sewer, a portion of the South 198 feet of the North one-half of Lot 1, Surveyor's Plat 11, described as follows: the West 65 feet of said tract beginning at a point 440 feet west of the intersection of Max Street and Roach Str eet in said Addition, at the North line of said street, thence North 168 feet; thence East 65 feet; thence South 168 feet; thence West 65 feet to the place of beginning. Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading. 5 Ordinance passed: �- Number Petition presented for the installation of a lay back curb on Clark Street between Armory Road and South Street ; and on Holiday Street between Clark Street and South Str eet . Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Manager. • City Engineer submitted Final Estimate in the amoutt of $28,291.03 to 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Compagyfor Street Improvement Job Number 369. Estimate approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Wilson and Company, Engineers, submitted Estimate Number 4 -Final, in the amount of $4,729.86 to King Construction Company of Hesston, Kansas, for Dry Creek Diversion Channel Bridge. Estimate approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Concrete Construction Bond presented from Bozard Brothers. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for one Industrial Wheel Tractor, as follows: Superior Case Company $4020.30 Topeka Hiway Mower Inc., $3,832.30 Commissioner Exline moved to award to Topeka Hiway Mower Inc., as per bid submitted in the sum of $32832.30.
