08-04-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETIN G COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. AUGUST 4, 1959 Regular Meeting, of the Board of Commissionrs August 4th, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioars McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meetin of July 28th, 1959 and Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals wereread and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain lots and parts of lots, and the parkways abutting therein in the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exling,Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6359. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordinance de- scribing the place of installation of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopte by sections and on its final adoption t e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6360. Budget Hearing for 1960. Approved as read by Commissioner Exline. Commissioner Jaeger moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other purposes by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the year 19601.11 Number Ordinance passed: 1 i` L �_ �l.J / �.v Hearing was held on assessme is for concrete paving streets in Lamer Gardens and Ingermanson Heights Addition. (Project SB 163-2 Resolution Number 2119) Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept and approve. The following resolutions were introduced for s econd r eading: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Cloud Street with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, from the east line of Lewis Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Ramsey and Jaeger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2198. "A Resolution relating to t he curbing, guttering and grading of West side of Hageman Avenue, from the center line of Garden Avenue to a point 338 feet south of the south line of Yale Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2199• "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Hageman Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb toback of curb from the south line of Garden Avenue to a point 338 feet south of the south 1in6;1of7Ya1e Avenue". On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exlin, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2200. On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2203. • Letter presented from City Planning and Zoning Commission approving Plat Addi- tion to Block 2, Southern View Addition for W. A.Butschle. (See Petition Numbet 2208) Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. The following letters received from City Planning and Zoning Commission: No. 1 Recommending that Petition Number 2251 filed by Irene Green, for the rezonirg of Lot 2, Block 10, E. M. I. Addition to Zone "D" be approved . Accept by Commissioner Ramsey and City Clerk publish Notice. No. 2 Recommendirg that Petition Number 2252 for the rezoning of Lot 55, Block 8, Replat of Edgemere Addition to Zone "D" be approved. Accept by Commissioner Ramsey and City Clerk publish Notice. No. 3. Recommending that Petition Number 2244 filed by Frank Busboom, for the rezoning of Lot 1, Block 18, Sunset Manor Addition to "D" be approved. Accept by Commissioner Jaeger and City Clerk publish Notice. No. 4. Recommending that Petition Number 2239 filed by Raymond C. Loux, for the rezoning of East 100 feet of Lots 5 and 6, except South 70 feet, Block 4, Lamer's 2nd Sub -Division to Zone "B" be approved. Accept by Commissioner Bull and City Clerk publish Notice. No. 5• Recommending that Petition Number 2234 filed b Bernard Erickson and Lou Tickel for the rezoning of Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 16, Block 3, Shalimar Plaza • Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B"; and for the rezoning of Lots 9,10,11,12,13,14, 15 Block 3, Shalimar Plaza Addition from "A" to "C" be approved. Michaelsen for the rezoning of Block 4, Schippel Addition from "A" Residential to "D" Commercial not be approved. Accept by Commissioner Exline and petition denied. Number 9. Recommending that Petition Number 2235 filed by Al Swander for per- mission to operate a 'frailer Park on Lots 17,18,19,20 Block 49, Military Addition; and on Lots 13 and 14, Block 2, Tucker Park Addition, be not approved. • Accept by Commissioner Jaeger and petition denied. Building Permit Application received from A. L. Swander for the erection of a one -family dwelling on Lot 18, Block 49, Military Addition. Commissioner Jaeger moved that application be denied. Petition presented for the rezoning of Lots 23 and 25 Block 32 Riverside Addi- tion from Zone "A" to Zone "B". On motion of Commissioner Bull petition referred to City Planning Commission. Petition presented from George C.Etherington for the approval of Tract No. 4 in Surveyor's Plat 51, less the north 120 feet, for the operation of a Trailer Park. On motion of Commissioner Jaeger petition referred to City Planning Commission. Petition presented for paving Barney Street from Lincoln Street, north to Broadway.
