07-21-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS , REGULAR; MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS JULY 21, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 21, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissions rs McCune, Bull, Exline and Jaeger responded. Commissioner Ramsey and City Attorney Barta absent. The minutes of the Regular Meetingof July 14th, 1959 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice Published in the official City paper bids were received for paving certain streets in Sunset Manor, Job 388 as follows: Brown and Brown, Inc., $77,916.90 L. W. Rexroad and Son $78,212.30 Wilmoth Construction Company $81,948.00 Engineer's Estimate $80,724.00 Commissioner Exline moved that contra t be awarded to Brown and Brown, Inc., • as per bid submitted in the amount of $77,916.90, and checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. Commissioner Exline move that Contract Ordinance be introduced for first reading. Ordinance passed: ����� Number A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution determining the advisability of certain street, sewer and sidewalk improvements, estimating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvemen district, method of assess- ment., and apportioning t --e cost between the improvement district and the City at large." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followirg vote was had : Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2195. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance pro- viding for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning o certain property within the City and pres cribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6355• Commissioner Jaeger moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading pro- viding for the construction of Later al Sanitary Sewer Number 394• (Vanderbilt Addition). Ordinance passed: 7 -)/ _�) Number: - i City Manager reported on Petition Number 2246 for curb sidewalk between Roach on the west and Lewis on the east, on the north side of Cloud Street, in Parnel Addition. Commissioner Jaeger moved that Sidewalk resolution be introduced for first read- ing. R. Constructors $13,400.00 Busboom and Rauh $12,840.00 Engineer's Estimate $10,500,00 Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer bids to City Engineer to report at the next meeting. Commissioner Jaeger moved that City Clerk set date of August 4th, 1959 for Hearing on Assessments in Lamer Gardens - Project SB 163-2, - Resolution Number 2149. Commissioner Bull moved to approve Audit Contract from D. N. Turner in the amount • of $4125.00 for 1960. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate Num er 3 in the amount of $17,372.07 to King Construction Company for DryCreek Diversion Channel Bridge. Approved by Commissioner Exlim . filed by Douglas Hill for Mount Barbara Addition. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Plat filed by Paul Adrian for acceptance of the Plat and inclusion into the city limits, Ingermanson Heights Second Addition. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Petition filed by Union Pacifid Railroad Company for the re.zonin - of all of that part of Blocks 3, 4 and 9 in Chicago Additio n to the City of Salina, Kansas, that is bounded on the Northwest and Northeast by the Union Pacific tracks constituting the Plainville "Y", and bounded on the South by the Main line of the Union Pacific Railroad from Zone "F" to Zone "G" for use as an oil well, equipment sales and salvage yard. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Planning Petition filed by Irene Green et al., for the rezoning of Lot 2, Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas from Zone "B" to Zone "D" Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Plannin Commission. Petition pre sented for rezoning from Edgemere Addition. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Petition received for vacation of Lincoln Avenue from Fourth Street to Fifth Street, and vacation of alley between Fourth and Fifth Streets from Lincoln Avenue north to sout line of Union Pacific Railroad Righ -of-way. Commissioner City Manager. City Manager presented plans for improvements in Indian Rock Park. Commissioner Jaeger moved that City Manager be authorized to proceed with Indian Rock Park improvements. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinace making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; McCune , Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-9711.
