06-30-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS JUNE 30, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 30, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull and Exline and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners McCune and Jaeger absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 23, 1959 and Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals of June 23, 1959 were read and approved as read. Letter received from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 2240 filed by Edna Riordon for the rezoning of Lots 15, 16 and 17 in Plat "B" Phillip's Second Addition, Salina, Kansas from Zone "B" to Zone "C" be approved. Commissioner Bull moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. • Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received for the curbing, guttering and paving certain streets in Lamer's First Sub Division, Job Number 386 as follows: Wilmoth Construction Company $105,003.05 Brown and Brown, Inc. $108,581.75 Engineer is Estimatei0 Commissioner Bull moved that contract be awarded to Wilmoth Construction Com- pany as per bid submitted in the amount of $105,003.05 and check returned to unsuccess- ful bidder. Contract Ordinance introduced for first reading. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance describ- ing the place of installation of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas." • On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull and Exline (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners McCune and Jaeger absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinaz ce and it is Numbered 6349. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following property: Lot 27, on Twelfth Street, Phillip's 2nd Addition from "B" to "C". Replat of Part of Lot 16, Garden Homes Addition and Lot 16, except the South 440 feet of Garden Homes Addition from "A" to "D". Lots 1 and 2 to Zone "D" and Lots 3 to 15 inclusive in Block 9, to "C" and Lots 1 and 12 in Block 5 to Zone "B" all in Faith Addition. Lot 31 inBlock 4, Riverside Park Addition from "A" to "B". All of the above property in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. Commissioner Exline moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading. Resolution Number 2179 SB -391 - Approved by Commissioner Bull. • City Engineer filed plans and specificationt for Street Improvements in Sunset Manor Addition. Resolution Number 2178 SB -389 - Approved by Commissioner Bull. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Final Estimate in the amount of $7,895.40 to Brown and Brown, Inc., for taxiways at Salina Municipal Airport. Approved by Commissioner Exline. The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Bull re- ferred to the City Manager: For concrete paving and curb and gutter on Cloud Street from Lewis to Ohio. For concrete surfacing of Hageman Avenue from south line of Garden Avenue to a point 338 feet south of the south line of Yale Avenue, inWorsley Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, For concrete curb and gutter on the west side of Hageman Avenue from its inter- section with Garden Avenue on the north; thence south to a point approximately 338 feet south of the south line of Yale Avenue inWorsley Addition to the City of Salina, ansas. Application for driveways was presented from Busboom and Rauh, 409 South Broadway Boulevard. 1 - 30' South; 2 - 27" on Broadway; 1 - 27' on South Str eet. Approved by Commissioner Bull. Application for Oereal Malt Beverage License received from Benjamin D. Lewis, d/b/a "Rainbow Tavern", 105 South Fifth Street, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Exline.
