Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Uabger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 26, 1959 and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting of May 26, 1959 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in The Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of sewers provided for in Job 384 as follows: C. N. McCollum Construction Company $107,415.00 O.D. Wilmoth Construction Company $110,873.00 Engineer's Estimate $111,225.00 Commissioner Ramsey moved to award contract to C. N. McCollum Construction Com- pany as per bid submitted in the sum of $107,415.00, and return check to unsuccessful bidder. Wilmoth Construction Company $338,131.50 Engineer's Estimate $3259331.00 Commissioner Jaeger moved to award contract to Brown and Brown Construction Company as per bid submitted in the sum of $323,331.10 and return check to unsuccessful bidder. PUBLIC HEARING ON ADVISABILITY OF IMPROVEMENTS Project SB -- 389 The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,Kansas, met in the Commissioners Room of.the City Hall on the 2nd day of June 1959 at 4:00 P. M. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the advisability of the following improvements: The paving with concrete 28 feet wide, toe of gutter to toe of gutter,Shawnee Avenue from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the east line of Seminole Avenue. The paving with concrete 28 feet wide, toe of gutter to toe of gutter, Seminole Avenue from the west line of Shawnee Avenue to the north line of Republic Avenue. The paving with concrete, 20 feet wide, toe of gutter to toe of gutter, Mohawk Avenue from the south line of Lot 16, Block 6 of Sunset Manor Addition, to the north line of Republic Avenue. The paving with concrete, 28 feet wide,toe of gutter to toe of gutter, Franklin Avenue from the east line of Mohawk to the west line of Shawnee. as provided by notice published in The on the 20th and 27th days of May 1959, 2nd day of June 1959. Lot 46 on Elm Street, Original Townsite to Zone "D" West 1/2 Block 32 in Military Addition to Zone "C". On motion of Commissioner Bull Zoning Ordinance introduced for for first reading. Ordinance passed: 4 — Number: The following letters received from City Planning Commission: Recommending that Petition Number 2218.for the approval of Plat of Bel -Air Sub -Division to the City of Salina be approved. Accept by Commissioner Ramsey. Recommending that Petition Number 2081 filed by Mrs. Mildred Stafford for special permission for the operation of a trailer court at No. 9 College Court on Euclid in College Court Addition be approved. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and City Clerk advertise for Hearing, June 16th, 1959 at four o'clock P. M. Application r eceived from Harbin Construction Company for a 40 -foot driveway at 709-711-713 and 715 South Second Street in the City of Salina,K ansas. Application approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Petition received for the construction of a sidewalk abutting Lot 15, Block 1, South Field Addition (West and North side). Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Manager. Petition received for curing, guttering.and paving with two-inch asphalt of Carlton Place from Ingman Road to Rpberts Avenue; and concrete paving Talley Drive from Ingman Road to Missouri Pacific Right-of-way. Also extension of six-inch water mains for same. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Manager. Petition received for paving Tenlawns from Frost to Brown. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $150.00 for perpetual care of South one-half of Lot 10,Block 20 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, received from Dora Koehler Andersen.
