Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ramsey, the roll was_called.and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner McCune absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 12th, 1959 and Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals were read and approved as read. Brommer Belleville, Kansas $54,655.0 • Engineer's Estimate $60,150.00 Commissioner Exline moved that contract be awarded to King Construction Com- pany, Hesston, Kansas, as per bid submitted in the sum of $47,290.00 and checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. Contract ordinance introduced for first reading. City Manager reported on Petition Number 2222 for curbing, guttering and hot mix paving Holiday Street in Holiday Addition. 100% Commissioner Exline moved that resolution be introduced for first reading for curbing, guttering and paving Holiday Street in Holiday Addition. The curbing, guttering and paving of: (a) Belmont Boulevard from the west line of Roach Street to the west line of Mayfair Drive. (b) Roach Street from the south line of Belmont to the south line of Lot 5, Block 13, Belmont Addition. (c) Edward Street from the south line of Belmont to the south line of Lot 5, Block 16, Belmont Addition. (d) Wesley Street from the south line of Norton Street to the south line of Lot 5, Block 18, Belmont Addition. (e) Kensington Street from the east line of Quincy Addition to the south line of Lot 10, Block 20, Belmont Addition. (f) Mayfair Dfi.ve from the east line of Quincy to the south line of Lot 8, Block 21, Belmont Addition. The sanitary sewers to serve all lots and parcels within the boundaries of the benefit district hereinafter described. • 3. Sidewalks, five feet wide of 4 inch concrete to be placed one foot inside property line on all streets to be paved under 1, (a), (b), (c) (d), (e) (f) and (g) to assist the Board of Commissioners in determining the feasibility and desirability of such improvements, general nature of the proposed improvement, the estimate of probable cost, the boundaries of the improvement district, the method of assessment, the apportionment of the cost, if any, between the district and the city at large,�:nd whether such improvement should be made as proposed or otherwise, or in combination with other improvements authorized by Chapter 99, Session Laws of 1957, State of Kansas. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearings." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Acting Mayor approved they resolution and it is Numbered 2164. Commissioner Exline moved that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for curring, guttering and paving Ohio Street from Wayne Avenue to Greeley Avenue ., to be received up to and including Tuesday, June 2nd, 1959 at four o'clock P. M. Pursuant to notice published in the Galina Journal bids received for Street Department Truck. • Commissioner Exline moved to accept bid from Sid Bacon Motor Company for 6287:5.30. T- _ A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution ratifying con- I __.. tract and aut prizing the execution of the same." The following letters presented fromCity Planning Commission: Recommending that Petition No. 2209 for the rezoning of Lot 27, on Twelfth Street in Phillip's Second Addition from Zone "B" to Zone "C" be approved. Commissioher Exline moved to approve and City Clerk publish notice. Recommending that Petition No. 2220 for the rezoning of Replat of Part of Lot 16, Garden Homes Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "D" , and for the rezoning of Lot 16, except the South 440 feet thereof, Garden Homes Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "D" be approved, provided that access from Ohio Street be available only at platted intersections. Commissioner Bull moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. Recommending that Petition No. 2160 for the rezoning of Lots 1 and 2 to Zone "D" and the rezoning of Lots 3 to 15 inclusive to Block 9, in Zone "C" and for the rezoning of Lots 1 and 12 in.Block 5 to Zone "B" all inFaith Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, be approved, provided that access to commercial area from Ohio Street be avail- able only at platted intersections. Recommending that Petition No. 2211 for the rezoning of Lot 31, Block 4, in River side Park Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be approved. Commissioner Bull moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. Recommending that Petition No. 2194 for the rezoning of Lots 1, 22 32 4, 5, Block 1, Talley Addition to Zone "D" and the rezoning of the remainder of Block 1; all in Block 6 and 7,Talley Addition to Zone "F" be approved. Commissioner Exline moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Dwight Putnam for non-compliance with the rear yard requirements forthe South 10 feet of West 50 feet of Lot 104 and West 50 feet of Lots 106 and 108,Second Street, Original Townsite, City of Salina, Kansas, as set out in Ordinance Nunb er 5549.
