05-05-1959 Minutes9 k k +p COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS MAY 5, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 5, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exlire, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 28, 1959 and Zoning Board Meeting of April 28, 1959 were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution determining necessity of and directing that the owner or owners of certain lots construct, in compliance with plans and spedifications of the City Engineer, a side- wal1k, abutting said lots within 30 days of the adoption and publication hereof and providing that in the event the owner or owners fail to do so, that the City shall proceed to construct or cause to be constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof shall be assessed against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other special assessments." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2157. D.Williams for the approval of the Plat of Wilbre Addition to the City of Salina, K ansas:- be approved. Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2207 filed by Frank L. Barbee for the approval of platting of part of Lot 16 Garden Homes Addition to Salina, Kansas, be approved as submitted. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2200 filed by Claude Melvin for the approval • of Replat of Addition to Block 32, Military Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, b e approved as submitted. Reported as follows on Petition Number 2186 foil the rezoning of all of Moose Addition, filed b;; Harry Banker : After careful consideration of this petition and after reviewing the two protest petittions, the same being 2201 filed by Chas. mantis and Dan Spellman, et al., it is the opinion of the Zoning Commission that Only Lot 9, Block 1, should be rezoned to "B", which will allow the petitioner to use the house on the premises. Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2205 filed by Ted Collister, for the rezoning • of Lot 9, Block 1, College View Addition, from "A" to "B" be approved. The following letters presented from City Planning and Zoning Commission: Recommending that Petition Number 2194 by Tally -Ho, Inc., for the inclusion of a tract of land lying south of the present city limits, line bounded on East by the West Missouri Pacific Railroad Right -of -Way line and on the Southwest and west by the new Interstate 35 R/W line, be included within the city limits of the City of Salina, K ansas, also for the acceptance of the Replat of Talley Addition, be approved. The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Jaeger referred to City Planning Commission: Approval of Plat of Nordboe Sub -Division. Commissioner Jaeger moved that permission be granted to Radio Station KSAL to put antenna on Water Tower,.at Cemetery subject to City Attorney approving the agreement. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution granting Radio Station KSAL permission to put antenna on Water Tower in Cemetery.
