APRIL 28, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 28, 1959• Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune., the roll.was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 21, 1959; and Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting of April 21, 1959 were read and approved as read. Sidewalk Petition No. 2197 for sidewalks on the south side of OakCircle from Beach Street to the west side of Lot 1, Block 4, Circle Addition. 75% Commissioner Jaeger moved that Sidewalk Resolution be introduced for first reading. Resolution Passed: .� , Number • A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Jewell Avenue with concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter from the west line of RushStreet to the west line of Coronado Street." On motion of Co mmissioner ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2152. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Eleventh Street with concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the south line of Claflin Avenue to the south line of Woodlawn Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following.vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2153. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance de- scribing the place of installation ofcertain sidewalks in the City of 0alina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bu11,Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor aoorived the ordinance and it is Numbered 6321. Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented as follows: Mary M.Dunkin d/b/a "Rain Bo Gardens" 636 South Broadway, Salina, Kansas. Mrs. Wm. Basgall d/b/a "Fifth Street, Recreation" 113 North Fifth, Salina, Kansas. Applications approved by Commissioner Exline. Petition presented for sewer to serve Haven and Vanderbilt Additions. Commissioner Jaeger moved torefer to City Manager. Petition presented for opening Chester Street from south line of Lincoln to north lige of Missouri Pacific Right -of -Way. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Manager. Commissioner Exline moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for curbing, guttering and asphalt paving certain streets provided for in Engineer Job Number 387• ,J Ordinance passed: ��,� Number: 3 Commissioner Jaeger moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for curbing, guttering and concrete paving certain streets provided for in Engineer Job Nuber 390. Ordinance passed:. Number: Bids on Tractor and Mower Ir Salina Municipal Airport. Commissioner Exline moved to award bid to Salina Implement Company for $2863.00. The following petitions were presented: For lateral sanitary sewer system for Blocks 1 and 2,Riker Addition. Easement north of Millwood Street. Lots same as water requirements drawing to City Engineer April 8th, 1958. 7 lots in Block 1; 7 lots in Block 2. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Manager. For approval of Plat, Addition to Block 2, Southern View Addition. Commissioner Bull moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For rezoning Lot 27, on Twelfth street, in Phillip's 2nd Addition from "B" to "C" apartment. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For zoning of Lots 1, 2, 3, it, 51 6, 7, 8,9 and 10, Block 3, Wilbre Addition to District "C" apartments. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For Zoning Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 171 18, 19 and East 40 feet of Lot 2010 Block 3, Wilbre Addition to District "B" Duplex Dwelling Zone. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For zoning Lot 1, Block 1, Wilbre Addition; Lot 1, Block 2, Wilbre Addition and West 30 feet of Lot 20 and all of Lot 21,Block 3, Wilbre Addition to Zone "D" Local Business. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For installation of curb, gutter, concrete paving and sewers on a 20 -year basis on Lefran Street from Crawford to Wilbre Road; Wilbre Road from Lefran to Jaran Street; Jaran Street from Wilbre Road to Rockview Road; Rockview Road from Jaram Street to Wilbre Road; also sidewalks to service t e above described streets and water service to each platted lot in the addition. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Manager. Commissioner Exline moved that resolution be introduced for first reading for paving with concrete Eleventh Street from Woodlawn to Cloud. Resolution passed Number: • A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution pertaining to the continuing Flood Protection Works for the City of Salina,K ansas, with participation by the United States of America." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption t e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exlire, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the r esolution and it is Numbered 2154. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled : "A Resolution authorizing and prov _ding for the issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina, Kan sas , in the sum of $35,223.70 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina tobe designated as Series PT -35, pending the issuance of 'Bonds to pay the cost of said work." On motion of Copmissioner Exline the resolution was adopte as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exlire , Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2155. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled "An ordinance making an • appropr iation for the payment of certain claims." Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exli m , Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Hearing was held on Zoning Appeal Notice filed by L.Woodard, S)r non- compliance of rear yard requirementsfor Lots 12 and 14, Block 14, E. M. I. Addition, Salina, Kansas, located at 1113 North Santa Fe Avenue. No protests. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled, -L- "A resolution relating to the authorization of non-compliance with the hear Yard Requirements of Section 6 of Ordinance Number 5549 for Lots 12 and 14, inBlock 14, E. M. I. Addition to the City of Salina , Saline County, Kansas."
