Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissiom rs April 7, 1959. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meetin of March 31, 1959 and Zoning Board Meeting
of March 31, 1959 w ere read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance describ-
ing the place of installation of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas r'
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune,namsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6313.
An ordinance�ns introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- •
ing for the amendment of Zonin Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing forthe rezonig of certain property within the City
and prescribing the proper us es thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and W enger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6314.
An ordinance was introduced for s econd reading entitled : "An ordinance relat-
ing to and apportioning and levying special assess ments on certain lotsand pieces of
ground in the City o' Salina, x ansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving
and grading of Beverly Drive with concrete , Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of
curb to back of curb, from the east line of Duvall Avenue to the west line of Whittinghil
Avenue; paving and grading of Charles Street with concrete, Twenty-eight (28) feet wide
from toe of gutter to t oe of gutter, f rom the east line of Monrose Street to the east
line of Phillips Street; paving and grading of Franklin Street with concrete, Twenty-
eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the w est line of Tenth

On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of Lots 8,9,10, Block 4 and the re-
zonin of Lots 12,13,1.1,18,19,20 Block 5, and Lots 25,26,27, Block 6, Circle Addition
in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Exline moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first re adirg.

Proposal of Bucher and Willis for Engineering Ser vices relating to Off -Street
Parking Facilities.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept their proposal for $5,000.00.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution dete rmining
• the advisability of certain street improvements, estimating the cost ther eof, defin-
ing t e boun.aries of the improvement district, method of assessment, and apportioning
the cost bet ween the improvement district and the City at large."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex -
line, McCune , Ramsey and Wenger (5 ) Nays: (0) ,Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered c: 2140.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled : "A Resolution determining
the advisability of oertain street, sanitary sewers and sidewalk improvements, estimat-
ing the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method of
assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement distkict and the city
at large."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex -
lire, McCue, Ramsey and Wenger (5 ) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 21.11.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled::: "A Resolution determining

Commissioner McCune moved to accept and receive bids April 14t , 1959 at four
o'clock P. M.

Commissioner Wenger moved to approve purchase of Civil Defense Voice Warning
System.
Agreement entered into between the City of Salina, Kansas and the Southwestern
Bell Telephone Company for lowering and re -locating toll cables in connection with
flood control project, for the amount of $9488.83.
Commissioner- Wenger moved to approve.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, April 7, 1959• Meetirg was called to
order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exlin9,McCune2
Ramsey and Wenger and City Att orney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Pat Mullen for non-compliance of
Rear Yard Requirements for Lot Ten, Block Five, Kraft Manor Number 2, Addition to
the City of Salina, Kansas.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution rela ting to
the authorization of non-compliance with the Rear and Side Yard Requirements of Section
