03-31-1959 Minutes• COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALIN A, KANSAS. MARCH 31, 1959 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 31, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Ex - line, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular= Meetirg of March 24, 1959 and Special Meeting of March 24, 1959 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordinance pro- viding for the construction of certain storm sewers and drainage in the City of Salina, Kansas, tote designated as Worsley Addition Storm Sew er and Euclid Avenue Storm Sewer , and providing for the letting of contract for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 6312. • A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Hamilton Street with concrete, thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to tack of curb, from the west line of Eleventh Street tot he east line of Twelfth Str eet." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex - line, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2138. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled..: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Beloit avenue with concrete, Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the west line of Lewis Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCum , Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2139. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following property: For the rezoning of the East 1/2 of Lot 33 and all of Lot 35, on Russell Avenue in the Addition to the Grounds of K. W. U. from Zone "A" to Zone "B"., City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Wenger moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading. Lease Agteemdnt entered into between the City of Salina, Kansas and Neva D. Rikke for operation of restaurant at Salina Municipal Airport. Approved by Commissioner Wenger and Mayor authorizdd'.to sign. The following petitions were presented: To make changes in Fireworks Ordinance. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Attorney. Application for permit to construct a Recessed Parking Area on West Ash Str eet for Salina Concrete Products Company. Commissioner Wenger moved to approve. For the rezonirg of all of Moose Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B". Commissioner Wenger moved to r efer to City Planning Commission. Protest for the rezoning of Lots 8, 9, 10 Block 4; Lots 12,13,14,18,19,20 Block 5; and Lots 25, 26, 27, Block 6, Circle Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas from Zone "X" to Zone "B" Second Dwelling. Ordered filed. Petition from Claude Melvin for the inclusion of land at Twelfth and Pacific for Trailer Court. Land tobe included in City limits. Commissioners Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from H. Genevieve Tingle d/b/a "The Buffet", 217 North Santa Fe Avenue. Application approved by Commissioner Wenger. Commissioner Ramsey - Off Street Parking Contract with Bucher and Willis. Refer back to them for time limit of ninety days. Commissioner McCune - Mayor appoint a Committee of three, John Riddle, E. G. Anderson and Sid Bacon to assist on the Off -Street Parking Project. On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Application for Building Permit received from Pat Mullen, 717 Custer Street, for permission to erect a one -family dwelling at 1945 Gebhart Street.
