03-03-1959 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEET ING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 3, 1959 Regula r Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 3rd, 1959. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner McCune and City Attorney Barta absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 24, 1959 were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Clark Street thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, with twoj2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the North line of Armory Road to a point 136.5 feet north of the north line of South Str eet." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, • Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2120. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Elmore Drive from the north line of Crawford Avenue to the south line of Prescott Road." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (u) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2121. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled "A Resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearings." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune abs ent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2122. A resolution was introduced and pas.ded entitled: "A resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of str eet improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearings." Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2121. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinancc Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and there by adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered. 6307. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. :Mayor • approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6308. 1 C • City Manager reported on the following petition: No. 2163 For extension of sanitary sewer to serve Block 32, in Military Addition. 50% D_ Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance be ' The following letters received from City Planning Commission: Recommending that Petition Number 2158 for the rezoning of Lot 7, Block 2, Riverview Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "D" be denied. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2165 for the rezoning of Lot 1 and North five (5) feet of Lot 2, Block 8, Stack Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be denied. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2157 forthe rezoning of Lots 8, 9 and 10 in Block 4; Lots 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20 in Block 5 and Lots 25, 26 and 27 in Block 6, all in Circle Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be approved. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice. City Engineer filed the following estimates: Final Storm Sewer Job 371 O.D. Wilmoth Const. Co. An ordinance was introduced for s econd reading i4ading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation of certain property for the purpose of pro- viding necessary land and easements for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the developing, constructing, maintaining and operating of a flood control system for said City of Salina, Kansas ': On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: • Jaeger, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitledol "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of ceftain claims."
