Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 27, 1959• Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Jaeger the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 20th, 1959 w ereread and approve d
as read.
No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following described property:
A tract of land on the west side of Santa Fe Avenue from Prescott Avenue north
of Safeway Stores on South Santa Fe Avenue from "C" to "D".
Commissioner Ramsey moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading.

Lots 1 to 6 inclusive in Block 6, all in Shalimar Plaza Addition
from "All to "Bit.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance de-
fining the manner and place of construction of the lines of the Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company and providing for an annual payment to be made to the City of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections •
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Ramsey, Exline, McCune and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 6296.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and grading of Franklin Street Twenty -Eight (28) feet wide from toe
of gutter totoe of gutter, with two T2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch
crushed rock base, from the east side of Custer Street to the west line of Sheridan
Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2111.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled : "A Resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ohio Street with concrete, Forty-
one (41) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, from the south line of Stack Avenue
to the south line of Greeley Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex -
line, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2112.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License received from Leon Ashton and Merle •
Ashton, d/b/a Ashton Bros. Grocery, 901 West Crawford Avenue, Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner McCune moved that application be approved and license granted.
The following petitions w ere presentee::
For the construction of a sidewalk on the north side of Lincoln Avenue from
Reynolds to Barney.
Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Manager.
For the surrender of easement in Block 8, of belmont Addition, to the City
of Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Manager.
For sew er to serve Block 8, of Belmont Addition, to City of Salina,'-` ansas.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Manager.
Flood Control Condemnation Ordinance introduced for first reading.

appropriation for the payment of certain claims?.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adop ed by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered A-9116.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
City Clerk
Salina Centennial Board of Directors were present and presented the City with a check
for 4134.96 to be used in Indian Rock Park. McCune made motion that a plaque be located
in an appropriate place in the park to the Board of Directors for this contribution.

• Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals January 27th, 1959. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, McCune,
Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Y. M' Langdon for non-compliance with
the rear and side yard requirements of Zoning Ordinance for Lots 1, 2, and 3, Berk's
Addition and Lots 5, 6 and 7, Plat "D", all in the City of Salina, Kansas.
No protests.
A resolution was introduced and passed relating to non-compliance of rear and
side yard requirements of Zoning Ordinance for Lots 1,2 and 31 Berk's Addition and
Lots 5, 6 and 7, Plat "D", in the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune,Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2113.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey, Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
