Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Ex2i.ie, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 6th, 1959 were read and approved as read. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 2114 filed by H. T. Jellison for the rezoning of Lots 34 and 35, Block 42 Riverside Park Addition from "A" to "B"' be approved. Commissioner McCune moved to accept and advertise for Hearing. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled._,: "A Resolution accepting and • approving offer relocating pipe line," (Socony Mobil Oil Company). On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; ,Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nayr: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2110. The following estimates filed by Wilson and Company, Engineers: Number 5. B & D Construction Company, Mentor Gage & Road Bridge $3,111.64 Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Number 2. The Darby Corporation Gypsum Hill Water Tank $8,847.86 Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Petition presented for curbing and guttering Elmore Drive from Crawford Avenue to Prescott Road. On motion of Commissioner McCune referred to City Manager. Gas Fitters Bond presented from Jack D. Peckham. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Petition presented for vacating a part of Smither Str eet. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Application for driveway at 719-21-23 South Second Str eet, presented from . F. S. Dumler. Commissioner Exline moved to approve. Petition pr esented from Weeks Food Store for the rezoning of the West 24 feet of Lot 4, Block 11 Beebe's Second Addition from "C" to "D", Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Electrician's Bond presented from Chester J. Pearce,d/b/a C. J. Pearce Electric. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Agreement entered into between the City of Salina, Kansas and The Missouri Pacif- ic Railroad Company, in connection with Flood Protection Project. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. ! Engineers filed plans for XONEOF DryGreeO Bridge. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk advertise for bids to be received February 17th, 1959 at four o'clock P. M. Petition presented for the rezoning of Lot 6, Block 3, Replat of Lots 1 to 15 inclusive, Garden Home Addition from "A" to "B" for construction of a duplex. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. • • 1 • 1 • 1 0 Southwestern Bell Telephone Contract at $14,000.00 per year for five years, with provision to reopen each two years. Commissioner Wenger moved to put on agenda for next week. City Att orney reported on Civil Defense Voice System. No w ay to issue temporary notes. T. V. Repair Control Ordinance be not passed at this time.. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Two Dedicatory Deeds dedicating land for Armory Road and South Street re- ceived from J. Hay Laughlin and George A. Laughlin. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. City Manager brought up about buying approximately thirteen (13) acres adjoin- ing Thomas Park to the North for $7,500.00. Commissioner Wenger moved to not buy at this time. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled::: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had.- Ayes ad;Ayes : Jaeger, Exlire, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-911. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled:: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-9113.
