JANUARY 6th, 1959
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 6th, 1959. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jfeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responder?. City
Attorney Barta absent.
The minutes of the Regula r Meeting of December 30, 1958 and Special Meeting
of December 30, 1958 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance pro-
viding for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map
therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within
the City and prescribing the proper uses ther eof."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
• Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune,Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6291.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance pre-
scribing the salaries of certain officers of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing
Sections 1-602 to 1-609 inclusive, of Ordinance Number 6247."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6295•

Petition filed for the rezoning of Lot 1, Block 6, Kraft Manor Addition from
Zone "All to Zone "B".
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey referred to City Planning Commission.
Fifty-three 1959 Beer Applications for renewal.
Commissioner McCune moved to approve.
Mrs. Marie Webb, Saline County Civil Defense Director, explained the "Voice
Warning System", and that it would the City approximately $21.1,000.00.
Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to Legal Department regarding financing.
An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An ordinance making an appro-
priation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered A-912.
