COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 16, 1958
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 16th, 1958. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger,
Exline, McCune and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Ramsey
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 9th, 1958 were read and approved
as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of
Salina, Kansas, prescribing the corporate limits of said City, including land described
in Ordinance Numbers 6203, 6216, 6220 and 6246,and repealing Section 2 of Ordinance
Number 6202."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
• Jaeger, Exline, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6292.
An ordinance was. introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number. 5549 and the Zoning District Map
therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within
the City and prescribing the.proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll -was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6293•
The following resolutions were introduced for second reading:
"A Resolution.relating tothe.curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Beverly
Drive with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb
from the west line of Duvall Avenue to the center line of Broadway Boulevard."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger.the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2101.
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Jewell Avenue with con-
crete, Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter from the east
line of Pershing Street to the west line of Rush Street."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex -
line., McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2105.
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Marrietta Avenue with
concrete, Twenty -Eight ( 28 ) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter from the
west line of Chicago Street to the center line of Broadway Boulevard."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Ex -
line, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2106.
Report on bid received for Police Radio Equipment:

Commissioner McCune moved to accept bid.
The following letters received from City Planning Commission:
No. 1. Recommending that Petition Nl,mber 2126 filed by Salina Concrets Prod-
ucts, Inc., for he rezoning of Lot 11, and East 20 feet of Lot 10, Surveyor's Flat 31,
Salina, Kansas; from "B" to "G" be approved.

Number 2. Recommending that Petition Numbe 2122 -filed by Graves Truck Line,
Inc., for the rezoning of Lots 17 and 18, Block 11, Pacific Addition inSalina, Kansas
be approved.
Commissioner McCune moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice.
Number 3. Recommending.that Petition.Number 2128 filed by Y. M. Langdon, for
the rezoning from 71C'11 to "D" a tract of land on the west side of Santa Fe avenue from
Prescott Avenue, north to. Safeway Stores, 448 South.Santa Fe avenue be approved.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and CityClerk give thirty days notice.
Number 4. Recommending that Petition Number 2127 filed by Paul Adrian for the
rezoning for trailer court purposes that portion of land lying between the South city
limits of the City of Salina, Kansaa, and the south right-of-way line of Winona Street,
commencing at a point 110 feet east of the intersection.of Westwood Road and Winona
and running East to the intersection of Dover and. Winona Street, be approved.
Commissioner McCune moved to accept and advertise. for Hearing December 23,
1958.
Petition presented from Derby Refinery Company for driveways - two, 30 -foot
onCloud and two .40 -foot on Broadway.
Approved by Commissioner McCune.
Petition presented from M. L Michaelsen to annex Worsley Addition.
Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Wenger moved to advertise for bids on Station Wagon for Fire De-
partment; bids to be received.December 30th, 1958.
Appraisers Reports filed for Sewer Job Number 373•
Commissioner Wenger moved to advertise for Hearing,December 30, 1958.
An ordinance was introduced and pas.s.ed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final.adoption the roll.was called and.the following vote was had;
Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-938.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of ce tain claims."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-939•
On motion of Commissioner McCune the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners,December 16th, 1958. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger,

Hearing was held onAppraisers Reports for Street Improvements provided for
in Job 365.
No protests.
Commissioner Wenger moved that Appraisers Reports be approved as read.
On motion of Commissioner Exline., Board of Commissioners adjourned.

to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, Mc-
Cune and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Ramsey absent.
Application of Y. M.. Langdon to waive Rear and Side Yard requirement.
Commissioner Exline moved to approve and City Clerk advertise for Hearing,
January 27th, 1959.
On motion of Commissioner Exline Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
