10-07-1958 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS OCTOBER 7, 1958 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 7th, 1958. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Jaeger absent. The minute s of the Regular Meeting of September 30th, 1958 w ere read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation of certain property for the purpose of providing necessary land and eas ements, permits and rights for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the developing, constructing, maintaining.and operating of a flood control system for said City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections • and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger abs ent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6271. Letter received from State Highway Commission of Kansas allowing permission to reverse flow of DryCreek and to construct a channel change and levee across State owned right-of-way for Interstate Route 35W. A petition was presented for the rezoning of Blocks 9 and 11, of the Replat of Lots 1-15 inclusive, Garden Home Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, from "A" Residential to "D" Local Business. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey petition referred to City Planning Commission. Horace Santry appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding the widen- ing of 81 By -Pass.
