09-16-1958 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS SEPTEMBER 16, 1958 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 16, 1958. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and. Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta rbspond ed. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 9th, 1958 wereread and approved as read. Wilson and Company, Engineers, recommended that contract for Tank Foundations and Booster Station (Phase II) Gypsum Hill Water Supply, be awarded to Layne Western Company, as per bid submitted in the amount of $3480.00. Approved by Commissioner McCune. A resolution was introduced for s econd reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of North Street with concrete, Thirty-seven (37) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, from the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad Tracks to the west line of Ohio Str eet." • On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2080. City Manager reported on the following petitions: No. 2065 Curb, Gutter and Paving Elm Str eet from College to Chicago. 53% Commissioner McCune moved that resolution be introduced for first reading. Resolution passed: Number No. 2070 Curb, Gutter and Paving Fifth Street from Harsh to Euclid 44% Commissioner -McCune moved to refer to petitioner. No. 2072 Curb, Gutter and pave with concrete- Fourth Street from Leslie to Wayne 100 Commissioner Exline moved that resolution be introduced for first reading. �4" Resolution passed: `V Number ..._• No. 2073 Sanitary.Sewer on Fourth Street from Leslie to Wayne. 100% Commissioner Exline moved to approve for ordinancet/,4- Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance amending Milk Ordinance be introduced • for first reading. % Ordinance passed:+ Number The following petitions were presented: For rezoning Lots 17,18,19 and 21, Block 3 VanTrines Addition from "B" to "C" and North 12.2 feet of Lot 20 and Lot 18 to Zone "D". Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For rezoning a tract of land in Block 1, Talley Addition from "A" to "F". Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For curbing, guttering and paving Marymount Road from Iron to Greeley. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Manager. Letter from Union Pacific Railroad regarding crossing protection at their crossings of Santa Fe Avenue and Ninth Street with their tracks. Commissioner Wenger moved that signal lights not be approved. Audit Contract from Dewey N. Turner for 1958. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Wilson and Company, Engineers, submitted Estimate Number 14 in the amount of • $6_,151.97 to Jarvis Construction Companyfor Iron Avenue Bridge. Approved by Commissioner McCune. • 1 U • 1 0 Contract entered into between City of Salina, Kansas and Bucher and Willis, Consulting Engineer s for future construction of certain improvements including bridges over the existing channel of the Smoky Hill River through the City of Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner McCune. An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline_, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-925. An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
