JULY 1, 1958
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 1st, 1958. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 24th, 1958 were read and approved
as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids werereceived for
the construction of storm sewers in Schippel Addition and Circle Addition as follows:

C. N. McCollum $393915.00
Engineer 's Estimate $42,525.00 •
Commissioner Wenger moved that contract be awarded to 0. D. Wilmoth Construc-
tion Company as per bid submitted in the sum of $38,790.00 and chedk%returned to
unsuccessful bidder. Carried.
Contract Ordinance introduced for first reading.

City Engineer filed plans a specifications for sidewalks (Job 372)
Commissioner $amsey moved to accept and City Clerk advertise for bids to be
received July 8th, 1958 at four o'clock P. M.
Notice of Hearing for Improvement of certain reports.
PUBLIC HEARING ON ADVISABILITY OF IMPROVEMENTS
The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, met
in the Commissioners Room of the City Hall on the first day of July,
1958, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of conducting a public
hearing on the advisability of the following improvements:
(a) Paving with six (6) inch reinforced concrete of all streets
in Sunset Manor Addition except those on the east side of Broadway
Boulevard;
(b) Paving with six (6) inch reinforced concrete all street s in
Edgemere Addition except Willow and Redwood Drive from Lot Thirteen •
(13) Block Five (5) Sout , Birch Drive from Lot Ten (10), Block Eight
(8) South, Hemlock Drive from Lot Eight (8), Block Nine (9) South, and
Cherokee fro m Pueblo to Republic Str eet.
(c) Paving with six (6) inch reinforced concrete of all streets
in Likins-Foster Addition except Oak Street from Pawnee Midway to
Bachtold Avenue.
(d) Paving with seven (7) inch reinforced concrete of Crawford
Avenue from the west line of 5teahli.n Avenue to the west line of Edgemere
Addition.
as provided by notice published in the Salina Journal, the official City
newspaper, on the 19 and 26 days of June 1958, and said hearings were
finally adjourned on the first day of July, 1958•

No persons appeared to protest the extension of Traco Trailer Court.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to is
authorization of use of certain lots as a Trailer Court within the City, under Section
13, Ordinance Number 5549."

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2021,
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $3682.44 to
0. D.Wilmoth Construction Company for Job 365.
Approved by Commissioner McCune.
A resolution was introduced and passed"instructing D. L. Harrison, City Treas-
urer, to deposit city monies in the Planters State Bank, Farmers National Bank, Nation-
al Bank of America and First Trust Company."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2025.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
Curb, gutter and hot mix paving South Street in Holiday Addition to Salina,
Kansas.
Concrete curb and gutter and concrete street surfacing of Duvall Street from
Haven Street to Beverly Street, to be placed on taxes for a 20 -year payment.
Curb, gutter, storm sewer and concrete pavement on High Place between Simmons
and Highland Avenue in Uebhart Manor Addition to City of Salina., Kansas.
Curb, gutter, storm sew er and concrete pavement on Simmons from Leslie to
Wayne in Gebhart Manor Addition to City of Salina, Kansas .
Sanitary Sewer on High Place between Simmons and Highland Avenues in Gebhart
Manor Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas
Sanitary Sewer on Simmons from Leslie to Wayne Avenue in Gebhart Manor Addi-
tion to City of Salina, K ansas.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that resolution be introduced for first reading for
paving Cloud from Roach to Quincy.

An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ord-
nance and it is Numbered A914.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
