COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
APRIL 159 1958
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 15th, 1958. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 8th, 1958 and Board of Zoning
Appeals Meeting of April 8th, 1958 were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received
for 1/2 Ton Truck for Waterworks Department as follows:
Harmon and Gregg (International) $1573.76
Jim Sullivan Chevrolet Company, (Chevrolet) $1457.75
Long -McArthur Inc., (Ford) $11119:14
Sid Bacon Motor Company (Dodge) $1595.88
Commissioner Exline moved to accept low bid of Long -McArthur, Inc.
The following resolutions were introduced for second reading:
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Prescott Street with
concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter from the
east line of Montrose Street to the east line of Lot 13, Block "C" of South Park
Sub -Division."
0n motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays« (0) Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 1986.
"A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Coronado Street
from the south line of Lot 7, Block 1, Coronado Addition to the east line of Rush
Street."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger,
Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1987•
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Coronado Street with
concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the
south line of Jewell Avenue to the east line of Rush Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolu-
tion and it is Numbered 1988.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Carlton Place thirty-
three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, with two 2 inch hot asphalt
mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the west line of Page Avenue to the west
side of Ingman Road; Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Clarement Drive thirty-
one (31) feet from back of curb to back of curb, with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix
over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Greeley Avenue to the soul
line of Ruskin Road; curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Ed ehill Road thirty-
three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, with two 2 inch hot asphalt k

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendmegt of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map
therein and thereby adopted and providing.for the rezoning of oertain property within
the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger.the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was .called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and. Wenger (5) Nays. (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6223.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the amendment of Zoning.Ordinanoe Number 5548 and the Zoning District
Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property
within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 6224.

Recommending that Petition Number 2003;filed by Anna Woodworth Nordin and E. K.
Nordin for the rezoning of West 200 feet of S. W. 1/4 of the S.W.1/4 south of Smohy Hill
River in Section 18, Twp. 14$ Range 2, Saline County, Kansas from Zone "A" to Zone "D"
be denied.
Accept by Commissioner Wenger.
Recommendin that Petition No, 1974 filed by M. L. Michaelsen for the rezoning

Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1989.
A resolution was introduced and passed relating to agreement with Socony-Mobil
Oil Company, Inc., dated, April 15, 1958, providing for the accomplishment of changes
and relocations of certain oil gathering facilities.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays.t (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is

On motion of Commissioner. McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the- following vote was had;
Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune., Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6226.
An ordinance was introduced for. second reading entitled: "An ordinance for
the vacation of North and South Alleys within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kan-
sas".

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals April 15th, 1958. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was calldd and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, McCune,
Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Richard H.Brown relating to non-
compliance with the Hear Yard Requirements for Lot 8, Block 32, Military Addition,
Salina, Kansas.
No protests.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
the authorization of non-compliance with the Hear Yard Requirements of Ordinance Num-
ber 5549, for Lot 8, Block 32, Military Addition, in the City of Salina, Saline
Count , Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1991.
