04-08-1958 Minutesa `k� COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING is COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 8, 1958 Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 8, 1958. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jaeger, the roll was called and Commissioners Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 1, 1958 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of Mentor Bridge as follows: B & D Construction Company $78,033.95 Wilson Constructors $78,460.00 Busboom and Rauh $86,723.00 S. W. Hardwick & Company $91,599.00 Engineer's Estimate $70,100.00 I • Commissioner Ramsey moved to reject all bids; over Engineer's Estimate, and return bid bonds and readvertise for bids, April 22, 1958 at four o'clock P. M. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following land: Rezoning from "A" to "D", beginning East R/W U. S. 81, 500 feet Southeast , center line Hageman and 81, thence Last 990 feet; thence South along West R/W 81 1020 feet; thence west 50 feet to East R/W81; thence Northwest 1355 feet to point of beginning. L. McAninch, for Mowery Building, owners. Commissioner McCune moved to approve. Commissioner Exline moved to refer to petitioner. 1984 For street light in alley which runs east and west between Tenth • and Eleventh from Morrison to Washington (500 Block on Tenth and Eleventh and 500 Block on Washington and Morrison. Commissioner McCune moved that petition be denied. L 1 7 • The following resolutions were introduced for second reading: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Johnstown Avenue with concrete, thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, from the east line of Kansas Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follows vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is Numbered 1983. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Millwood Drive , thirty- three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Roach Street to the west line of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1984. "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of West side of Ohio Street from the center line of Martin Street to the center line of McAdams Road." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1985. "An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Jaeger, Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6220. Paving with concrete, Stack Avenue from Uelaware to Missouri; and curb and gutter Stack Avenue from alley, east to Missouri. Curb, Gutter and two-inch Asphalt Paving on West Grand Avenue from Broad- way to Barney. Concrete paving on Wilson from Sherman to Custer. Protesting paving on Eleventh Street from Hamilton to Antrim. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Planning Commission: For rezoning Lot6, Lamer's First Sub -Division from "A" to "E". Rezoning Lots 36 and 37, Block 2, Riverside Park Addition from "A" to "B". Rezoning West 200 feet of the SW/4 of the SW/4, south of Smoky Hill River, in Section 18, Township 14, hange 2, Saline County from "A" to "D".
