03-04-1958 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 4, 1958 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March lith, 1958. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, McCune and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners Jaeger and Ramsey absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 25th, 1958 were read and ap- proved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jaeger and Ramsey absent. • Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6213. The following letters received from the City Planning Commission: 1. Recommending, Petition No. 1962 from Dr. Donald B. Amend for the rezoning of Lots 20, 22 and 24, Block 3, VanTrine's Addition from "B" to "C" be approved. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice. 2. Recommending, Petition No. 1953 from L. L. McAninch for the rezoning of North 1/2 Lot 1, on Iron Avenue and West 65 feet Lot 3 on Ninth Street, Phillips Addition from "C" to "D" be approved. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice. 3. Recommending, Petition No. 1954 from M. L. Michaelsen for the rezoning of Lot 17, Block 5, Schippel Addition from "A" to "D" be approved. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice. 4. Recommending, Petition No. 1955 from M. L. Michaelsen for the rezoning of Lots 1 to 16 inclusive, Block 5, Schippel Addition from "A" to "B" be approved. Commissioner Wenger move to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice. City Engineer approved curb sidewalks for Lots 1, 20, 21, 22, 23?, Block 5, Ingermanson Addition, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. City Engineer approved curb sidewalks for Block 2 and part of Lot 3, Talley • Addition, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Commissioner Wenger moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading levy- ing special assessments for the construction of sidewalks provided for in Engineer Job 362. For street lights at Dover and Cloud and Beach and Winona Streets. City Engineer filed Estimate in the amount of $3,433.50 to Brown and Brown, Inc., for Street Improvements provided in Engineer Job 361. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. A resolution was introduced and passed relating to payment of costs for Flood Control Project. On motion of Commissioner Wenger resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jaeger and Ramsey absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1912. Supplement to Contract for Engineering services in connectionwith Flood Control Project was presented from Wilson and Company, Engineers. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Petition presented, protesting the paving of Prescott Avenue from Twelfth Street to Montrose Avenue. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Manager. Agreement with City Attorney on Revision and Codification of City Ordinances. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Contract with League of Kansas,Municipalities on Revision and Codification of City Ordinances. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jaeger and Ramsey absent.
