Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 18, 1958. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. City Attorney
Barta absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 11th, 1958 and Meeting of Board
of Zoning Appeals of February 11th, 1958 were read and approved as read.
Bids for Cafe Operator at Salina Municipal Airport.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve bid and Lease Agreement for Mrs. Gladys
Zemler. Carried.
Hearing was held on petition filed by Paul B.Adrain for the rezoning of
certain lots in Blocks 2 and 3, Talley Addition, Salina, Kansas, to be used for a •
Trailer Court.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating
to the authorization of use of certain lots in Talley' Addition as a Trhiler'Patk Within
the City, under section 13, Ordinance Number 5549. "
On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was hada. Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the Resolution
and it is Numbered 1941.

Commissioner McCune moved to refer to City Manager to answer..
The following resolutions were introduced for second reading:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Wilson
Street from the center line of Merrill Street to the center line of Hancock Street."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1932.
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of East Side
of Rush street , from the center line of Claflin Avenue to a point 149 feet south
of the south line of Claflin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on •
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1933•
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the West Side
of Rush Street from the north line of Claflin Avenue to the Center Line of Cloud
Street."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1934-
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Rush Street with con-
crete, twenty-eight ( 28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, r'rom the
north line of Claflin Avenue to the north line of Cloud Street."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1935•
"A Resolution relating to the paving of Highland Avenue with concrete,
twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the north line
of Lot 11, Block 1, and from the north line of Lot 1, Block 21 Gebhart Manor Addition
to the center line of Wayne Avenue." 40

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoptiontheroll was. called.and.the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1936•
"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Quincy Street , twenty-
eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, with taw 2 inch hot asphalt
mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of Albert Avenue to
the south line of Leslie Avenue".
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1937.
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the West Side
of Quincy Street from the center line of Leslie Ave ue to the center line of Albert
Avenue."
• On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1938.
"A Resolution relating to he paving and grading of Lewis Avenue with con -
crest, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the north
line of Mellinger Drive to the north line of McAdams Road."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1939•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance author-
izing and providing for the revision and codification of the General Ordinances of the
City of Salina, Kansas, the preparation of schedules of indices of certain special
ordinances of said City and the publication of the said revision and codification."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 6211.
Engineer Estimates filed as follows:

Application for driveway on Crawford Avenue between Front and Roach received
from Art Leckband.
Approved by Commissioner McCune.
Petition presented for the rezoning of Lot 50 onFront -treet in Original Town
of Salina, Saline County,Kansas, from Zone "C" to Zone t'D".
Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission.
Electrician's Bond presented from Donald E.6eusy.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
Resolution introduced and passedn relating to approving Purchase Contracts for
Flood Control Project."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, xamsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
• and it is Numbered 1940.
Commissioner McCune moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for the
levying of special assessments against certain lots and pieces of ground to pay the cost
of curbing, guttering and/or paving certtain streets provided for in Engineer Job. 355•

An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger,.McCune, Ramsey and Wenger. (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered A-892.
On motion of Commissioner McCune the Board of commissioners adjourned.
