JANUARY 71 1958
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 7, 1958. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 31, 1957 were read and approved
as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal, bids were received for
Furniture and Kitchen Equipment for Salina Municipal Airport.
Commissioner McCune moved to accept furniture bid from Stiefel Stores, for
Airport, as per bid submitted in the amount of $1903.56 F.O.B. Salina, Kansas. Carrie
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept kitchen equipmwnt bid from Salina, Coffee
House, for Airport, as per bid submitted in the amount of $6325.51 - installed. Carried
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution de-
termining necessity of and directing that the owner or owners of certain lots construct
in compliance with plans and specifications of the City Engineer, a sidewalk abutting
said lots within 30 days of the adoption and publication hereof and providing that
in the event the owner owners fail to do so, that the City of Salina shall proceed to
construct or cause to be constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof
shall be assessed against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other
special assessments."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1909.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and grading of Roach Street , twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe
of gutter to toe of gutter, with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch
crushed rock base, from the south line of Claflin Avenue to the north line of Cloud
Street."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1910.
A resolution was introduced and passed relating to Airport Lease with the
Moore Air Service."

motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and McCune (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1911.
Ordinance, second reading, relating to adoption of Fire Prevention Code.
Held over until next meeting.

Referred to City Engineer.
Permit to use five feet of Guernsey Drive for Parking Area.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to authorize the use of five feet for parking area_
on Guernsey Drive.
Commissioner Wenger also moved to allow curb sidewalk on Guernsey Drive.
59 Beer Applications, renewals for 1958 were presented.
Commissioner Wenger moved that all applications be approved, except application
received from Harry J. Caton, d/b/a "Brass Rail" 116 West Ash Street. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered A-885.
An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An ordinance making an appro-

On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance

On motion of Commissioner McCune the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 7th, 1958. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on Appraisers Reports for curbing, gutte ing and/or paving
certain streets provided for in Engineer Job Number 355.
No protests.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that Appraisers Reports be adopted as read. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner McCune the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
