12-17-1957 Minutes• 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 17, 1957 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 17, 1957• Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meetiig of December 10, 1957; Special Meeting of December 10, 1957; and Zoning Board Meeting of December 10th, 1957, were read and approved as read. The following letters were pre sented from the City Planning Commission: 1. Recommending that a tract of land north of Beverly Drive and west of the existing city limits, consisting of ten acres, more or less, be included within the corporate.limits of the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. Carried. • 2. Recommending that Plat of Schippel Addition to the City of Salina, Kansa, be approved. Also, that said tract be included within the corporatelimits of the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and approve. Carried. 3. Recommending that Petitions Number 1911 and 1942 filed: by Paul Adrian for the re,_zoning of a portion of Blocks 1, 2 and 3, in Talley Addition, City of Salina, Kansas;, from Zone "D" to Zone "G" be dpproved. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Carried. 4. Letter presented regarding petition filed by L. H. Wood for the rezon- ing of Lots 1, 22 9 and 10, Plat 3, Lamer 's Second Sub -Division , City of Salina, Kansas from Zone "Atl to Zone "B" or "C", stating they will not recommend approval of proposed Replat for the reason that it is not in accordance with the land platting rules of the City of Salina, K ansas. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Carried. City Manager reported on the following petitions: 1937 Paving Roach Street from Claflin to Cloud with hot mix. 75% Commissioner Wenger moved to approve for resolution. Carried. 1938 For sidewalks on west side of 1500 Block on Maple Street, defined as Block 2 of Cloud Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas>, and to extend from the south curb of Bachtold Street to the south border of Lot 30 of said block. 66-2/3% Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve for Resolution. Carried. • An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby ad opted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and pre scribing the proper uses thereof." u 1 • On motion of Commissioner -Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinan and it is Numbered 6200. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinanc and it is Numbered 6201. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provi for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limitw of the City of Salina, Kansas., prescribing the corporate; limits of said City, and repealing Section 5 of Ordinance Number 6142." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exlire, Jae ger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5 ) Naysz (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6202. 16 Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the year 1958 was presented from S. H. Stephenson, d/b/a "Broadway Buffet" 671 South Broadway, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. The following Engineeris Estimate s were filed: Final Estimate Job 355 Street,Improvements,)Brown & Brown $16,119.21 Approved by Commission r Ramsey. Number 8 Iron Avenue Bridge, Jarvis Construction Company Approved by Commissioner McCune. Number 3. Airport Job 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Number 4. Airport Job Johnson Bros. Construction Company Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Number 4. Airport Job BrAdley Building Company Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Number 5. Airport Job M. W. Watson Approved by Commissioner Wenger. $6,464.79 $66,467.78 $21,875.80 $ 2,867.40 $ 89.01 Appraisers Reports filed for curbing, guttering and paving certain streets pro- vided for in Engineer Job 355 . Commissioner McCune moved to set Hearing date for January 7th, 1958. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an ap- propriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner. Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was` had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered A-882. Building Application from R. M. Ginder, Lot 19, Block 63, Military Addition, 1218 North Ninth Street. Commissioner Wenger moved to approve and waive off-street parking improvements. Carried.
