COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 3, 1957
Regular sleeting of the Board of Commissioners Septemrer 3, 1957. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
AcCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 27, 1957 and Meeting of Board of
Zoning Appeals of August 27, 1957 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulat-
ing parking on portions of certain streets in the City of Jalina, Kansas, providing a
penalty for the violation thereof and amending Section 24-1411 of Ordinance Nwnher 5816
of said City."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; ,Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
• and it is Numbered 6179.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing the
acceptance of Grant Offer from the United States relating to the development of the
Salina Municipal Airport, Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, namsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) :Mayor approved the resolution and it is
Numbered 1874.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 312 to 316, both inclusive,
Resolution Book Number 6.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: A resolution relating to Lease
Agreement with Ray Green Displays for the installation of advertising billboards on the
South 40 feet of Lot 97, and North 1/2 Lot 99, Seventh Street, in Original Town of
Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and 4enger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Num-
bered 1875."
The above resolution is recorded in full on 318 Resolution Book "Tum,er 6.
Plans filed .for Sidewalk Job.
Plans approved by Commissioner Ramsey; bids to be received up to and including
Tuesday, Septeiiiber 10th, 1957 at four o'clock P. M. Carried.
• Mayor appointed Donald L. Fowler as a member of Electrician's Examining Board,
to fill vacancy created by the resignation of Elwood Jarrett, whose term of office
would have expired July 24, 1958.
Appointed approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution approving Report
of Board of Commissioners for land and easement condemnation for development of Jalina
;?unicipal Airport, authorizing and directing to certify same to City 'Treasurer, and to
file same in office of Register of Deeds."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Num-
bered 1876.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 320 Resolution Book Numher 6.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: A Resolution approving and ac-
cepting Agreement and authorizing Mayor to execute same."
On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Num-
bered 1877.

The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Jaeger
referred to the City Manager:
For vacating East and West alley between Claflin and Russell, from West line
of Lot 23 on Claflin to West line of Lot 24 on Russell; to the East line of Lot 29
on Claflin and East line of Lot 30 on Russell, all in Addition to Grounds of Kansas
Wesleyan University.
Curbing and paving Beverly Drive from Duvall to Whittinghall.
Curb, Gutter and Paving Page Avenue from South side of Willis Avenue to South
side of Carlton Place; Carlton Place from west side of Page Avenue to West side of
Ingma.n Road; and Ingman Road from North side of Carlton Place to North side of Lot 21
Block 7, Ingermanson Heights Addition to Salina, Kansas.
For extension of Sanitary 'ewer to the South side of Block 6, from the south side
of Block 5, to South side of Block 4, and through Bleck 7 to the Southeast Corner of
Lotl4, Block 3, Ingermanson Heights.
For extension of Water mains to the South side of Carlton Place and Carlton Place
to the West side of Ingman Road and Ingman Road to the North side of Lot 2, Block 7, in
Ingermanson Heights, Salina, Kansas.

and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

nance and it is Numbered A-866.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 3, 1957. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline,
Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on the following Appraisers tteports:

No protests.
Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried.
