Regular Yleeting of the Board of Commissioners August 27th, 1957. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner McCune absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 20, 1957 and :"fleeting of Board of
Zoning Appeals of August 20, 1957 were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received for
Salina Municipal Airport Improvements as follows:
0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company, Salina, Kansas
Aartin K. Eby Construction Company, Wichita, Kansas
M. W. Watson, Topeka, Kansas
Standard Construction Company, Wichita, Kansas.
Commissioner Wenger moved to award contract to 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Com-
pany with Alternate Number 1, and return checks subject to Final Approval of C.A.A.
Carried.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating
to the curbing, guttering and grading of South Clark Street from the south line of
Spruce Street to the south line of Lot 8, Block ,Walnut Grove Addition."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the reso-
lution and it is Numbered 1871.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 309 Resolution Book 6.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and grading of Franklin Street , Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from
toe of gutter to toe of gutter, with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch
crushed rock bas e, from the west line of Hancock Street to the east line of Merrill
Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopte as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 1672.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 310 Resolution Book 6.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the construction of certain sidewalks, for the payment of the cost thereof and how
the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Conunissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and tl_e following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: l0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6177.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amend-
ing Article 3, Section 2 (4) ordinance No. 5823 providing for and regulating curb
street cuts recessed parking area; providing for the issuance of permit therefor and
repealing Article 3, Section 2 (4) Ordinance No. 5b23.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exlii.e, Jaeger, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: l0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6178.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance relating
to angle parking on Cloud Street from Highland Avenue to Fourth Street,
Ordinance passed: , No. F�f
Application for Cereal 114alt Beverage License was presented from Mrs. Florence
Peterson, 201 South Santa Fe Avenue.
Commissioner Jaeger moved that application be approved and license c -ranted.
• Carried.
Petition presented for the installation of a street light on West Place half way
betty een University and State Streets.
On motion of Corw issioner Wenger referred to City Manager.
Electrician's Bond presented from Raymond R.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger.
Cer tificate of Occupancy for a nonconforming use on Shangri-La Trailer Court_,
707-721 West Cloud Street, filed by Milton O. Glessner and Ola Glessner.
Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City
Eight Pool Hall Applications
by Commissioner Wenger.
Appoint Journeyman Electrician in place of Elwood Jarrett.
Held over until next meeting.
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the Board of Commissioners adjourne

vacated alley on Santa Fe Avenue, Addition to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University, City
of Salina, Kansas.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to the
authorization of non-conipliance with the Rear Yard tequire;ients of Section 6of Ordinance
Number 5549 for Lots 66 and 68 and vacated alley on Santa Fe Avenue Addition to the Grou
of Kansas Wesleyan University, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger,
Ramsey and Wenger. (4) Mays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 1873.

Building Application was presented from M. L. Michaelsen, for the erection of
Tri-Plexes at 451 and 453 South Fifth Street, City of Salina, Kansas.
Action deferred until next weeks meeting. Carried.
