Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 20, 1957• Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 13th, 1957; and Meeting of Board
of Zoning Appeals, August 20th, 1957 were read and approved as read.
Commissioner Wenger moved that resolution be introduced for first reading for
the curbing and guttering of South Clark Street from Spruce Street to Lot 8, Block 6,
Walnut Grove Addition. J 7j

Commissioner McCune moved that resolution be introduced for first reading for
• paving Franklin Street from Hancock Street to Merrill Street.

City Manager reported on Petition No. 1911 for closing of alley between Elev-
enth and Twelfth Streets. first south of Iron Avenue.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that petition be denied and put gravel on alley to
keep dust down. Carried.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from Keith D. Oraybeal,
d/b/a "North Santa Fe Recreation" 806 North Santa Fe Avenue, Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner 14cCune moved that application be approved and license granted.
Carried.
Concrete Construction Bond presented from Sol Holcom.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Commissioner Wenger moved that Sidewalk Construction Ordinance be introduced
for first reading on Resolutions Numbered 1818, 1812, 1853 and 1862.

Appraisers Report filed for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Num-
bered ':157 to 300 inclusive and for Main Sanitary Sewer "AE". (Job 358.
Commissioner McCune moved to advertise for Hearing on said reports, Tuesday,
September 3rd, 1957 at four o'clock P. M. Carried.
Appraisers Report filed for the construction of Curbing, Guttering and/or Pav-
ing certain streets provided for in Job 357•
Commissioner McCune moved to advertise for Hearing on said Reports, Tuesday,
Septemr;er 3rd, 1957, at four o'clock P. M. Carried.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate in the amount of $11,775.81 to U.D. "ilmoth
Construction Company for improving Park recreation Area.
Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance be introduced or first reading for
cut back on Ellsworth Avenue. ,

Letter presented from Traffic Department of Salina Police Department, regard-
egarding
ing'Traffic Survey and Parking Request for Kansas. Wesleyan University on the north
side of Cloud from Highland Avenue to Fourth Street.
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriatoion for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sectiot
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) ;Mayor approved the ordinani
and it is Numbered A-865.
